Unless Khan's confidence has truly plummeted, I would have gone for Kimbrough rather than ***an. He is less of a puncher but a better boxer and all-round fighter. It's not as if they are proving anything by letting ***an have a crack at Khan's chin. Khan has taken better punches than ***an is capable of landing, without that much trouble, in my view.
What punches has Khan eaten for breakfast from bigger punches than ***an? I'd love to know. It seems every time he's hit he is either knocked down or hurt.
***an is certainly not as good all-round as Limond. Surely you are not arguing Limond punches less hard than ***an, are you? If, then, he isn't ready for Limond yet, he should at least fight someone like Kimbrough. ***an is too much of a backwards step in my view and wouldn't check his chin either. Khan took Gomez' punches, he was up against Earl...I wasn't thinking of Stefy Bull, you know.
no no no drilzane kinda swarmed him and khan backed up and got his foot tangled in the ropes....not a knockdown and thus the ref didnt do him a favour
Sorry I am just a hater. He certainly got favours in the Limond (especially) and Gomez fights though.
He took a shitty arm punch from Gomez and went down and he was seriously hurt by a body shot. Earl was shot to **** and didn't even land a decent punch on Khan.
Back to fighting bums then! Obviously been relegated to box office undercard. Hope all talks of Khan becoming world champion is done, fighting a 34 year old 22-5 ranked 206 is hardly going to get him there. I heard pacman ko him in sparring.
The Gomez punch was a cuffing shot, one you would expect a fighter to take. The body shot was pretty heavy though and would trouble most fighters - especially ones that are useless on the inside like Amir.
I take on board everything you all said and I don't disagree with it either. However, if Khan's chin is so poor that even an average punching average journeyman should from now on be considered a threat, why are you all still interested in Khan's comeback or his future prospects? I am not arguing he should go in against a puncher. I am arguing he should go in against a better fighter than ***an. ***an is not going to prove anything about Khan that we don't already know; he's not a puncher by any means, not even when compared to the kind of fighters Khan has faced before Prescott, and he is too far a step backwards for this fight to help Khan come back. You may disagree with me about my conclusion, but I can't see why you would want to convince anyone ***an has the kind of punch that could cause Khan difficulties, poor chin or not, without agreeing that Khan's career is effectively over, if he has to take ***an's power very seriously. If Khan's career is effectively over, why bother getting at all excited about his next opponents or future prospects?
