i wanna see this fight because mora is the very definition of a weasley, sleezy, snake-oil merchant-type... but saying that he might be a very nice person in private

but just because of his exterior look and way he acts i want to see someone put a beatdown on him lol

mora might present some movement problems early on, but he has zero power. one of the reasons hopkins beat pavlik aside from the obvious great qualities/skills he possess, is the fact pavlik was simply not a real 170 pounds that night. hopkins came in at 185 packed with strength which was obvious from the beginning of the bout.

mora will have no such advantage so pavlik will be able to walk him down easily.

I think Mora makes sense because Pavlik wants to prove he can handle a fighter with decent movement and speed. i think it an excellent warm-up before Abraham. But the fight will suck.

And we'll probably hear Arum have the nerve to blame Abraham somehow for this. ****, I'd rather see him face Duddy than this.

The thought of Mora getting K'dTFO is intriguing, but dammit, not like this. The way it's going, we'll probably just get a bull**** towel thrown in between rounds and get deprived of the only positive possibility to come out of this, anyways.

Horrid fight. After the Hopkins disaster, I guess everyone is in protectionist mode.

Pavlik needs to fight Abraham, Williams or move up to 168. Nothing else is worth a ****.

What's worse than this fight is the why it's happening. Arum can claim all he wants that no one knows who Aurthur Abraham is but the truth is the majority of boxing fans do. He can claim too that he wants Arthur to establish himself in the States so that a fight between him and Pavlik will make money. The majority of people who watch boxing are people who visit sites like this or follow the sport closely. I don't know nor have I ever known any casual fan that would order a PPV with Tyson and De La Hoya fights being the exception.

The names Mike Tyson and Oscar De La Hoya (just to name two) transcend the sport and attract people to fights even they don't follow the sport regularly. Newsflash Bob Arum...you talk of Abraham's lack of noterity but no one outside of the hardcore followers of boxing knows who Kelly Pavlik is either so your excuse isn't a valid one. Furthermore Abraham is a bigger name than Mora is which further invalidates your lame excuse. This is a fight fans want to see and some will pay to see and while I'd like to say that no one will pay to watch Pavlik fight feather fisted Mora millions will because they don't know how to say no or go without to make a point or send a message.

I'm a humble boxing fan of 35 years and while I know and understand the fight game I know little to nothing of what goes on behind the scenes with promoters and fighters, however if Kelly really wants the Abraham fight he should take steps (if legally possible) to get it even if it means leaving Top Rank. Pavlik vs. Abraham is a fight every boxing fan wants to see and a fight that no casual or part time fan will ever know enough about or care about.

Any fighter has a chance to beat the other guy on any given night and while boxing often gives us surprise upsets, Mora's got virtually no chance in hell at beating Pavlik, especially with those powder puffs he calls fists. Pavlik's going to start connecting and Mora's going to sleep...that's it.

So much of boxing is having a great year thus far...its a shame that people like Bob Arum are allowed to do what they do and get away with it. Arum is avoiding Abraham as long as he possibly can so that he can milk Kelly for all he's worth for fear he may lose to Arthur. It's not about fame or glory, or the warriors code, it's all about money to the Arum's of the world and they'll keep screwing fans and the sport over for a few extra bucks because well...very few of us are willing to send them a message by not buying and watching fights like Pavlik vs. Mora.

Are the networks going to air this fight or is it going to be another unworthy PPV broadcast. I pray that HBO, Showtime, and ESPN send Arum a message by not buying the rights to this fight. So far this year they've made considerable efforts to bring us better fights and leave the boring or mismatched fights where they belong, in the trash. Mora is a nobody with no power and no excitement, and poses no threat to Kelly. Mora is the safe route to another title defense and that's crystal clear. Bob Arum can spin this any way he wants but it's garbage regardless of what color bow he tries to tie on this.

Arum is the virus that makes boxing sick...nothing more nothing less.

It'll be interesting to see if HBO buys in. They passed on the Rubio and I've gathered they aren't happy with Arum these days so it's highly possible they will pass again. That'll leave Arum to either go to Showtime or, as with Rubio, do the PPV himself (which doesn't seem like a good idea).

He's doing his fighter a diservice. I just hope KP can keep his concentration. He has to be kinda pissed as to how things are working out.

Yep, I just read over at http://queensberry-rules.com/2009/03/sergio-mora-agrees-to-fight-kelly-pavlik-yawnish.html that Arum may put Margarito on the card and that it's going to be a PPV. PLEASE people don't buy this crap fest. It's bad enough Arum wants us to pay to watch Pavlik fight Mora, it's even more disgraceful that he wants to feature Margartio. Props to HBO and Showtime for passing on this one!

Kelly, get away from Top Rank as fast as you can. Your reign as champion has lost plenty of momentum and Arum is only going to damage you even further with these types of fights.

Careful with the "same card" comment - they'll be in Mexico! I guess it makes the PPV a bit less of a rip off, but it's still a rip off.

Good on HBO for passing on it. It may be a personal thing with Arum, but at least they aren't spending their money on garbage defences. If Arum's worried about AA being seen by the U.S. public, maybe he should start worrying about his own man's profile. Arum doesn't seem to be raising it with these tactics.
