Confirmed Pavlik vs Mora this Summer. Who the hell wants to see this???

Thats a fair point that cant go unnoticed...I agree...Pavlik could have easily fought a top contender instead of this bum in Mora!

 

I'm not horribly opposed to this fight. I'm not dying to see it, but, I don't hate it. I'm pretty ambivalent about it.

Honestly, let's just assume that a fight with Abraham or even Sturm can't be made right now. Who at 160 right now is a more attractive opponent than Mora? Just using the fightnews top 10, after Abraham and Sturm the remainder of the top 10 is Gevor, Wright, Rubio, Duddy, Zbic, Griffin and Quillen. Is there really an opponent in there you'd rather see than Mora? The next 5 are Sylvester, Lorenzo, Pirog, Ornelas and Asikainen. None of those fights are exciting. None, other than Wright who is fighting Pwill, is an HBO quality fight.

Unfortunately the middleweights are crap right now. If Pavlik had chosen to fight any of those guys, we'd all be saying the same thing. What a crap defense. What is wrong with him. So, what option really is there?

 

At least Gevor, Duddy, Sylvester and Pirog would be quality fights by the term "worldwide"...you are right with your assumption going by the term "stateside"...

Well i dont for starters, but i think pavlik is just another champion, nothing special in the slightest, he is **** to watch and i think the geezer is soooooo over rated its untrue, id never ever in a million years stay up til 4am to watch pavlik, never mind paying PPV to watch the ****.

 

The headline for this thread suggests that this fight is "confirmed." Team Pavlik has not said yes. As of late yesterday, Arum had not even discussed it with Kelly, Jack, or Mike SR. Please vote in the "boycott" thread.

 

I will watch it if its on tv,but it is a crap match up.

I have no problem with that fight. Mora is a former WBC champion so it should be good. And Pavlik is keeping busy.

 

This isn't just a bad fight, this is a horrible matchup. Arum doesn't even have Trampler trying to make a shitty action fight. Mora is going to use every ounce of his athleticism to make this unwatchable.

 

Mora had 2 very watchable fights with Forrest. This will be a good fight. Mora is not worse than the fighters Hopkins and Taylor were fighting.
