I watched a post-fight interview on Quillin's thoughts about the stoppage and he seemed to be okay with it. He was hurt badly and it would've only gotten worse.

He might be ok with it. True is he got caught cold with a very good hand and didn't know how to deal with it. He tried to fight instead of holding or go down and take the count. Had the referee done the right thing we might had a few rounds of good boxing. He could have done an 8 second count before deciding wether Quillin could continue to fight.
I would not call him a hype job because he wasn't that hyped anyway. The only person that gets paraded as the best at middleweight is Golovkin
