Here's the latest on Guillermo Rigondeaux, much confusing if you ask me! Today, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Scott Silverman Ordered that the Court’s previous Order dated April 1, 2010, confirming an arbitration award in Gary Hyde’s favor against two time Cuban Olympic Medalist and #7 Ranked WBA Jr. Featherweight sensation, Guillermo Rigondeaux shall have no force and effect until the Court orders otherwise. Rigondeaux was scheduled to fight on Saturday night’s world title twinbill in Sunrise, Florida, but pulled out citing a back injury. He has also split from trainer Freddie Roach and is looking for a new trainer. Anyone can comment on this? Does the April 1 arbitration award means Gary Hyde tried to stop Rigo fighting on the Berto card? Maybe that is behind the pullout? How come the Court overrules his own decision 8 days later? What's the story behind this?
I read that he split from Roach because the Wild Card Gym was always too packed and he wasn't getting enough attention in training from Roach.
I agree... however, what I think this means that there may be some serious problems with the arbitration agreement. Perhaps, the settlement might be rejected by the Judge? It seems like he is severing his ties with everyone... I expect some major news as someone big is bankrolling this.
The only wish I had when Rigo left Cuba was not to have setbacks in his late-starting pro career. Damn.
As far as I'm aware there was an appeal lodged against the original decision, Gary Hyde is in Miami as we speak sorting it out, I shouldn't expect it to last too long and as Rigo is "Injured" it shouldn't effect him too much.:good
Man he's only had about 8 fights and he's in the top 10. Where they do that at ?!! I know he's good but shouldn't he have to climb the ladder like everyone else. That makes the division sound garbage.
No, Hyde wants him to go back to Roach, It's all the people around Rigo putting stupid ideas into the boys head!
Let me see if I'm understanding this right So the courts reversed their decision that Rigo is supposed to sign with Hyde, and now people are suspecting that Hyde pulled Rigo out of the Lopez fight out of retaliation?
That decision is only on hold, People can suspect all they like but Gary had nothing to do with any of this, You ever hear the saying "Too many cook's spoil the broth"
So how would you describe the situation, just to make things clear? What was the decision on April 1 about, what's the april 9 decision about, and what do you know on the fight/Roach pullout?
