He did a hell of a job Sat. night. The guy came to fight, had a great plan & I loved the way he cranked it up in the 9th. Something different about Kelly these days. Just not the same distructive machine he used to be. I think the Pavlik that walked down Miranda would have shown us more against Sergio, but that KP is gone forever. It was a good run for Kelly, leading up to his Title fight with Jermain. But since then, the luster has slowly come off. I'll still be a fan of his. Personal problems may have lead to his downfall. **** happens to people... And I'm looking forward to watching more of Martinez. He's a great figther. Minus the clowning & mocking BS, of course. :good
Miranda is a very limited boxer himself, actually **** if we're completely honest. Problem with KP is that he is too slow, too robotic and you know what to expect with him. He hasn't developed as a boxer. That same KP that turned up to fight Miranda is the same guy who turned up to fight Martinez. It seems like he relied on his power way to much. He should throw out his cornermen and bring in a new team. He needs to mix things up. He will always struggle against good boxers.
pavlick is the same pavlick he was when he beat mirandaand taylor, martinez just whooped his ass get over it.
Oh, I'm over it. I just don't think we're looking at the same KP from 3/4 yrs ago, thats all. BTW, I hope Shane puts the same beat down on PBF that Sergio put on KP!
Like it or not B-hop exposed Pavlik as one dimensional. Before this Pavlik was perceived as undestructible. I actually thought B-hop was crazy for getting in the same ring. Kudos to Martinez, but I doubt if he would have been as confident thought out the fight if Pavlik wasn't proven to be very beatable.
I agree, the fire wasnt there on saturday. I think the pre hopkins version of Pavlik has a much better chance, not sure he would beat martinez (as he performed on saturday) but it would be closer.
Maybe your right. Better cutman next time, better prepared for what Sergio offers & remember, this was KP's 1st BIG fight in a long time. There was some rust & nerves. He did settle down & won some rounds. Next time, Pavlik has to be the one that cranks it up a notch going into the later rounds. Its possible Kelly could win the rematch, but he needs to really get his life in order...in & OUT of the ring.
Pavlik stands no chance against this guy, the onyl reason he won the rounds he won was cos Martinez took a break and saved his energy for the last part of the fight, and we know what happened when he picked it up. Pavlik cant deal with movement and speed, he needs somebody to be totally stood still infront of him doing nothing, ala a tired Taylor in the 7th round, Miranda and the Mexican taxi drivers he was beating before the Martinez fight. I'm thinking the only reason he took the fight againt sergio was cos he thought it was another mexican janitor lol
