On a second thought...I think Andre Ward is too good for 175, he should skip it and go straight to cruiser! :deal :silly
There was a management consultant, who run away with all his money. His purse from the Arslan fight went to the tax office and he is in big trouble now, because he cant fight with his injuries.
I'm sure Uncle Al is waiting in the wings to swoop in and pick up the pieces. :deal Hernandez will be headlining on Bounce TV defending a new belt against the likes of Shawn Cox for $1mil within a year.
Don't understand the hate for YPH...for a big guy he's a phenomenally gifted fighter. I also don't think his chin is as bad as people think. If a guy has a good chin he has an ATG chin according to guys here, and if a guy gets rocked a few time he automatically is an egg shell in disguise...great logic.
A couple of gifts and holding a belt hostage (and flaking out multiple times spanning years drawing out negotiations and then withdrawing from defenses) will do that. Ask Sturm. (who back in the day used to strike a very sympathetic figure with the fans, after not getting the nod versus ODLH...but all that goodwill dried up rapidly)
You make a good point. YPH has been p*ssing about in recent times, but if judging off his performances and his fights as a whole, I think he's a pretty likeable fighter. Maybe the Cuban hatred is another reason.
You think YPH would fight Sergio Mora after he dropped Jacobs? :hey Caparello might be a good option too at a catchweight.
That's terrible. It's one thing to not like a fighter because of how they manage their title reign/career, but boxing is hard enough to make a living in that world class fighters shouldn't be broke. His reign annoyed me, but I'd never wish this on him. I may not have the greatest of sympathies for guys who blow it on 10 Lamborghinis, but to lose it to a swindler just flat out sucks.
