Thats a bit harsh. He has great movement and generalship and quick hands. Didnt stand there to get hit but moved and also engaged. Scored a legit Knockdown. Would be nice if he had a tough more power. That k-down was just a well placed shot on a tired guy. He fought the championship rounds well .
Yuri fought a much better fight than Santos. He knock him down twice while boxing superbly. Best performance to date. Santos better retire
I actually think Foreman is great for boxing. With his win and Salita's fight against Khan (who i am supporting), part of me is happy to see Jewish fighters involved in the sport again. Plus it brings another group of supporters into boxing.
I hope the hell Santos had a rematch clause. I've seen Foreman many times, and that fight tonight was all about how awful Santos was, not how good Foreman is. It reminded me a lot of Forrest losing to Mora, and we all saw what happened when Vernon came into the rematch focused and properly prepared. I think the same thing would happen if Santos got a rematch. Foreman is an ESPN quality fighter, not a world champion.
Santos looked awful. Reminded me a lot of Simms-Alcine, where Simms just seemed to forget how to pull the trigger after a long layoff.
What I like about Yuri is that he's not cooking himself down to lower weight classes. The reason he has no bang at 154 is because this guy weighs no more than 154 on fight night either. He could easily campaign at Welter, potentially Light Welter but will not do that, I respect that.
He was stiff, had no balance, couldn't judge distance, missed Foreman when he was standing still, et, et. I really hope Santos had a rematch clause. He blames Don King for the long lay off, and I have no trouble believing that.
Haha the commentators comments about Pacman being able to beat both Santos and Foreman was prettyfunny!! Pac could target him for an 8th division championship
