great performance and result, moving him into true ATG territory. dont particulary like the man but what a fighter.

also dare i say it puts calzaghes win against him into an even better light. heres to the old men.

I agree. Before, during and after the Calzaghe fight I really couldn't stand the guy or his style of fighting. Still don't like him as a 'personality' but you have to say he delivered the goods last night and I really enjoyed his performance but couldn't beleive how easy Pavlik made it for him.
Hopefully we will see Calz vs Bhop 2 at the Millenium Stadium, huge crowd, lots of spite and genuine dislike between the two fighters and more of Bernard complaining about cold his cold socks lol

Absolutely tremendous , I said Pavlik would outpoint Bernard and he proved me wayyyy off line.. Bernard boxed better than i ever saw him fight since the days he was Facing the likes of Joe Lipsey and RJJ in his unbeatable days.. Hopkins is the absolute real deal, and if he would have adopted the same stance against Joseph he may have stealed the show.. I was also very impressed by Steve Luevano.. excellent.. Dib is good but has loads to learn...

If BHOP fought that way against Calzaghe, he'd have EASILY beaten him.

Hopkins made it a point to swing first, swing fast, swing more...it was unreal. From round 1 to round 12, he never relented.

    ATG performance...and I was there.

thats just daft mate, he didnt fight that way cos in calzaghe he had a far better opponent, a world class opponent. did hopkins ever say he had an off night against joe?

I still had BHOP edging Calzaghe...

Calzaghe had very little to do with it. Hopkins fought his lazy, counterpunching, not throwing combos type of fight.

Against Pavlik, BHOP attacked first, threw massive combos, and had energy the entire fight.

Calzaghe never hurt BHOP, and frankly never really hit him, soooooooooo, if Hopkins was able to keep more gas in the tank in the later rounds, it would not have even been close.

Being the tactical genius that he is dont you think BHop would have fought like that against Calzaghe in the first place if he thought it would have worked?
The game plan he used against JC on the night was the plan that he thought was the most effective, to make Calzaghe fight against his normal style ie not counter attacking.
IMO if he threw open punched Bhop would get tagged and thats why he didnt fight that way in the first place.

he lost his energy because joe was in his face harrassing him all night, because he's a **** hot fighter.
dont care what anyone says, hopkins proved last night that both he and joe are true elites, not that it needed proving to me.

I was speechless last night watching Bernard put on a clinic against a young world class fighter. I didn't think he had that kind of performance left in him.
