This has been coverede before: David Diaz was a paper champion who was given his belt in order to sell the Morales fight. He did not win it.

DLH that night could have been beaten by anybody, he gave NO resistance what so ever. You can manually count the punches DLH threw in that fight, he had no legs and no movement. Call him shot ot weight-drained, but whatever it was that night, that was a walking punching bag.

Juan Diaz and Casamayor are both far better than David Diaz and the DLH that PAcquiao fought.

Pac has a better career resume, JMM has the better recent resume. Both fights were very close, most experts had Marquez edging both.

There is NO difference between JMM and Pac right now.

 

at Marquez's age, and now with his new style that brings heavy wear-and-tear, a stay-busy fight is a terrible idea.

Hell I'd like to see him start working with Nazim Richardson, though I know he'd never leave Beristain.

Marquez may have no more great fights in him, two more at the most I'd say. He has to wait for a mega payday bout, and can't risk aging overnight against an inferior opponent. Even if he loses to Pac/Hatton/Mayweather, he still makes a boatload of cash, which noone else can match.

man it was a great fight and ko by marquez.But the fact remains he just lost to pac and pac just beat hoya.Pac made hoya look that old nothing else.was hoya prime no, shot no.

What made the fight great was that marquez took way too many shots from a guy he shouldn't of took them from but still turned the tide later on for that beautiful stoppage.

Lets not forget last year campbell beat this same Diaz who was undefeated at that time.
And this david diaz who people call a bum thoroughly beat up santa cruz who beat up casamayor pryor to the Marquez win

 

That's fair DINAMITA. For a style that requires fast movement and crisp reflexes at a lower weight, there is always a risk of aging overnight. And he is putting heavy strain on himself by moving up in weight, all the way to 140lbs, while he could still be making 130lbs.

His stock is at its peak right now, I wouldnt risk him against anyone except a major financial draw. Hopefully Beristain doesnt make another managerial blunder, right now he should be focused on the paydays. Pac/Hatton is only 2 months away, he could get a fight with one of them in about 6-7 months.

 

Marquez was fantastic last night and full credit to Diaz,he made it a great fight to watch both were good and gave an example of what a title fight should be like.
