As I promised here I am congratulating Floyd Mayweather on legitimately beating Manny Paquaio. He won the fight fair & square. I must say though I still do not like his style of fighting. The first 3 or4 rounds he was using the grab & hold like a limpet routine when Paquaio got close. No warnings from Bayless though BUT between rounds Bayless went to Floyds corner said something to them & the holding seemed to stop. I do think Manny did enough to warrant a rematch I hope Floyd gives him one in September. The score was closer in my mind than the judges scored it it was a fair result WTG Floyd & Vegas:happy:happy
I feel I must add in fairness to both contestants, Last nights fight determined who was the better man last night. It did nothing to alter eithers Legacy or ATG status. In my opinion Floyd lost his chance of being regarded as one of the best ever years ago. Manny was awarded the Fighter of the Decade award & I believe he earned that title & he is The Fighter of Their Era If as suggested on here Manny did have an injured shoulder going into the fight then FRloyd really should give him a rematch Make them BOTH more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I don't think Manny did anything close to earn a rematch. Pacquiao was in the fight for sure, but he was getting beaten just about every round. Was in it enough to make it interesting the whole way, wasn't winning really at any point besides the 4th round. This fight is the fight that decided who was the signature fighter of the era, you can say Pacquiao is still that defining fighter, but you're a Pacquiao fan, and you'll see what you want. History won't look at it like that. Mayweather is the fighter of the era like Ray Leonard was of the Four Kings era, i think it's that simple I would watch a rematch, I wouldn't pay for it, because i've seen the result
How about the rumours Manny went into the fight injured. If that is true it would explain why Pac didn't do what was expected. We all have our own opinions & rightly so. My own is Floyd lost his chance of immortality when he cherry picked for years thus avoiding Paquaio, Margarito Williams etc. Had he fought them he may well have beaten them all, If he had he'd be ranked up there alongside Ali, Robinson etc
I think they're clearly nonsense, an excuse conjured up by a desperate camp. They said Pacquiao's right arm was trash, but most of his best shots were right straights or right hooks. He was using it fine, he just didn't throw because he isn't that fighter anymore. He changed a long time ago, but people just wanted to not notice.
