he is WIDE open for a straight right. Lemieux would decapitate him, and we saw how Lemieux is limited. Eubanks needs to stay in bumland (SMW) and go back to cherry picking.
If you say you're an ATG and what you actually are is a fringe contender then you are going to get a lot of heat when you pick up losses. And if he continues then he will pick up plenty. How one sided they are me and you will have to wait and find out but I think increasingly so against any top tier opponent he faces.
What stamina????? the fight was hardly a barn burner, yet Eubanks was stumbling around the last handful of rounds.
People totally underestimating that 8 lb difference. I thought eubank could bridge that gap prior to the fight. Get groves on stamina/workrate. Became apparent pretty quickly last night tho the eight pound difference was too much. There's a reason guys like groves are coming to weigh ins looking like prisoners of war. If it was about technique....George wouldn,t have to drain. His techniques very good. I still say eubank doesn't need to change much. Does anyone believe if he got a new trainer....he,d beat canelo/golovkin at middleweight or groves at super middleweight. He,s more effective how he is. The way he trains has allowed him to get near the top quicker. Eubank came from nowhere really. Not much of an amateur career etc. Hes battered people at British level. All guys who have these fundamental trainers. Hes also battered Abraham and yildrum. Ran billy Joe to a razor tight decision and took groves the twelve rounds. Its pretty much good going considering how little of an amateur career he,s had. He won't get better than that with fundamental training. They all struggle moving up in weight. And that's guys who have been forced to move up with being too big at their current weight let alone moving up without needing to. Very few are successul with it. Even mayweather had to drastically alter the way he fought. He used to be quite an aggressive come forward fighter at one point before basically becoming a one shot pot shotter at the higher weight. Where did pacmans k/o ratio go at the higher weight. What happened to Abraham at the higher weight. People we,re on here yesterday saying groves has no chance at light heavy. How does that work if his technique is so good. The truth is very few people have been successul moving up a weight division without needing to. They all need to cherry pick doing it. Oscar de la hoya got poleaxed from Hopkins trying to move up. The list is long. Boxers are too effective draining nowadays for that weight difference not to matter. A guy that's doing it wrong....won't last twelve rounds with george groves 8 lbs above his natural weight. Just look at what happened to cox.
I kept changing mind on who would win this fight. My default position was Grove's, due to his pedigree, his natural weight class, his jab, power, ring IQ. I let other people change my mind, listening to experts like Froch, the bookies odds, I thought "I'm obviously missing something that everyone else sees" Annoying really. Next time I'll follow my instincts.
If he moves back to middleweight he needs to stay away from Canelo and GGG! Or hire their trainers to train him! Besides nobody would pay to see GGG or Canelo knock this bum out.
