Joe was strugging to make 168 ten years ago.

Why would he kill himself to get to 160 ?

And by now, unlike your buddy Boo, I trust you have realized what would happen to Pavlik against Joe at 168.

I was responding to the idiot that said Joe ruled from 160 to 175. Joe would be on a stretcher coming IN at 160.

Hey Jetski...Do you still think Pavlik knock out Dawson? We were talking about that a few days ago and we didn't see the same things when analyzing the fight. Do you still think Pavlik will know Dawson out? Just curious as to whether we are on the same page now...

The old man pulled an amazing victory out the bag in his twilight boxing years - full credit to him for it. Credit to him for taking the fight as well, others wouldn't - and didn't.

Excuse me, but I did not see Calzaghe in the ring saturday night. Styles make fights, and Calzaghe is still a clown that Pavlik would KO. Joe knows that. That's why he has done nothing but talk **** and make a fool of himself ever since September of 2007. And by the way, the version of BHop that shut pavlik down would beat 7 shades of **** out of slappy joe.

Calzaghe's going to have his hands full with RJJ. And Pavlik still has all his titles. But he probably shouldn't move to 168 anytime soon, you're right.

    Hopkins looked excellent.

I had no doubt that his experience and speed would give Pavlik some trouble. What shocked me though is how he was able to keep up that pace for 12 rounds. Unbelieveable!

Alot of respect has to go out to this man. I've picked against him many times and there is no doubt he's an ATG, who would have troubled alot of fighters of yesteryear. The only guy to date that has had it *somewhat* easy was prime RJJ. And even that match was competitive.

As for Pavlik we already knew what his vunerabilities were. Now it's up to him to make sure nobody else can capitalize on that. My suggestion is that he diversify his game. Don't rely so much on what is your bread and butter. Take a page out of Calzaghe's book and learn how to mix it up when one combination isn't working.

What a load of biased crap. The version that beat Pavlik? What the same version that showed up for Tarver, showed up against Joe for the first 4-5 rounds and then vanished, only to reappear against Kelly? :patsch

PLEASE. He looked like dynamite against Pavlik because Pavlik is all the things I told you months back. He looked just as good against lethargic, past it Tarver, and initially he looked great against Calzaghe until JC worked him out.

It is laughable to still be saying he would KO Calzaghe, the only style that is important to beating Pavlik is movement, hand speed and angles. A counter puncher has a ****ing field day due to his wide attacks and how off balance he is when he misses with the right.

Calzaghe does exactly what Hopkins did, total domination because he would read him like a book and the speed and angles are too much.

You were also saying Kelly would KO Hopkins with great confidence. No doubt you still think he KOs Kessler.
If he fights Kessler and gets thrashed again will you start to accept he is not what you thought?

I used to take you for one of the brighter posters on here.

I didn't always agree with you (especially your anti-Euro stance at times), but you appeared a bit more knowledgeable and analytic than the casual fan.

    It appears I was wrong.

Either you know close to **** all about the sport, or you're so blinded by your biases and hate that your reasoning skills have gone out the window.

Pavlik is not (and up to this point, has never been) on the same general level as Calzaghe. He has neither the foot movement nor the handspeed, not to mention general ring-generalship and skill level of Calzaghe.

He could not do what Calzaghe did against the wily veteran, Bernard.

And are you trying to tell us that Bernard ("I'll never lose to a white boy") wasn't up for his fight with Calzaghe ?

You don't grasp enough about the sport to understand that the opponent has something to do with the way a fighter performs.

Kessler was convinced he was going to beat Calzaghe.

Afterwords he said that Joe wouldn't let him fight his fight, execute his gameplan.

He wasn't the first to realize that, AFTER losing to Calzaghe.

You should abandon the hate and the bias and try to be a bit more objective.

    It will improve your posts.

More importantly, it will increase your enjoyment of the sport.

If anyone though that Pavlic would KO Dawson, I guarantee they have come down from they're high and regain there senses and will never put those words in there mouth again.
