This fight for me was 50/50, if I wasn't from Puerto Rico I would've sat on the fences, but ultimately picking Cotto to win anyways...Last night I was rooting for Cotto of course and saw a fighter with heart and instinct to brawl but you just can't do that with Pacman. Another thing I saw was Cotto has lost a step, no matter what everyone says, he no longer works the body, no longer has pop in his punches for some reason and had Pacman in the ropes yet failed to capitalize. Props to Manny, he came to work and did what was expected from him. No excuses, he beat the bigger man, still in his prime in his (Cotto's) weight class. Another great fight from the lil Filipino warrior...I cannot wait to see him against Mayweather. I'm not be around for a while because the *******s are going to take over and it will get annoying but it is well deserved for you guys. :good
That's what I'm trying to wonder...The times he needed to slug (while he had Pacquiao on the ropes) he didn't do **** except light taps to the body and looked confused. Meanwhile, center ring, he decides to brawl with Manny. Cotto was looking ok when using his jab but I honestly don't know what happened. It's a damn shame cuz Pacquiao can be outboxed, just not outbrawled and most guys just decide to brawl with him Also, my GOD was Cotto's corner horrible No advice whatsoever except "Come on Cotto you're more intelligent than he is" << WTF!!!
Thats honestly what I think is the problem with Cotto. Everyone says he's lost a step. I dont think he has. I think he needs an actual established trainer or his uncle back. Santiago is garbage.
Cotto definitely lost some snap in his punches. That hasn't been mentioned much, but even Lampley mentioned it. The lack of body punching, especially that big left hook doesn't seem to be the same.
I'm shoked at how well Pac took Cotto's shots. Pac really looked great with his foot work and hands. Cotto never recoved completely after that 4th round knock down.
