Congratulations to Paul for reaching for his dreams.
He has some rare potential and could go very far in the division, beating Hatton is definitely a possibility.

I like Malignaggi and I enjoy watching his skills, but due to his lack of power, he wouldn't stand a chance against Hatton who would stop him.

Thats hilarious, considering he lasted 12 rounds with Cotto, 8 with a fractured orbital bone.

He looked solid in there last Saturday. He's really won a lot of people over showing that he's far more than attitude. He not only has legitimate skill but has great stamina and has shown intangibles such as toughness in the Cotto fight.

The only problem is that last weekend's win needs to be looked at with caution because of the ridiculous interference of ref Eddie Cotton. There's no doubt in my mind Paulie would have come away with an easy decision win regardless, but because Cotton refused to allow any infighting, we didn't get a reasonable view of how he can handle smothering pressure that Hatton would present. It's a different pressure than the type that Cotto presented. Essentially, when it came to testing Paulie's boxing against a pressure fighter, we went from one extreme (the absolute best and most crushing, Miguel Cotto) to another (Mdou being stopped from doing any infighting).

Congrats to Paulie, and I hope he continues to improve and show hard determination.

Hatton doesnt do work on the inside anymore, he just grabs and holds.

Hatton would have had no chance last Saturday then. Eddie Cotton would have DQ'd him by the 8th.

I enjoyed the fight. What was great about it was that after a dreadful Stevens-Dirrell fight, this fight was very similar in style but was actually well-fought. Malignaggi put out a solid work rate and was actively sticking the jab and countering with uppercuts when Ndou got close. They never just stared at each other. As Paulie said after the fight, it may have looked easier on tv than it actually was for him. It was constant but slow-and-intense pressure with Paulie attacking it at just the right moment.

It would have been better without Eddie Cotton in the way, however.

Going 12 rounds with Cotto is a badge of honor as far as i'm concerned. Malignaggi proved his mettle in that fight so everything else shouldn't scare him any. I would actually give him a good chance against Hatton given how shitty Ricky's looked the last few times out.

Hatton is a better fighter than Cotto at 140. Hatton WOULD stop Malignaggi as he has no power to keep him off

I thought the bout was exciting. Paulie is a boxer that I would pay to see. Keep in mind that he threw over 800 punches in the fight all while dominating every round with his defense.
