Dirrell needs to get back in the ring a few times before we give him a shot at Ward.

I wouldnt mind Groves-Bika, but based on the tightness of this last fight, I'd give Periban a shot 1st.

yeah, Bika has been toiling away for years going in against the divisions best, so it's nice to see him get a belt for his efforts. he'll never forget this moment.

back to the fight though, he did look a whole lot more ragged than he's been for a while. is it that the fights are starting to take their toll, or just that he was nervous fighting for one of the big prizes like some get and he didn't box tighter and smarter? i guess we'll find out the next time he fights.
fighters most of the time look much better after winning a title, so i'm interested to see if Bika also goes up another couple of gears within his arsenal.

didn't think much of Periban. he's solid and tough, but i expected a lot more after reading some posters talk him up as the next best thing. he isn't going to be featuring at the top table of the Super Middle division i wouldn't imagine.

Well done to Bika, i remember doing an interview with him yrs ago and thinking to myself that this guy has the mentality to become a champion someday. Alot of Aussies have used him for sparring as he is so strong and awkard. I dont think Periban was over rated, i think Bika made him look bad. If you guys recall when he fought Calzaghe he made Calzaghe look bad also and Calzaghe was one hell of a boxer imo.

I would like to see Froch-Bika, it will be a war and Carl would shade it...

Bika leaves himself wide open when he throws and has little to no defence. Froch would use the jab to set up his big shots. the vast majority of those shots would land. wide decision or a possible late stoppage for the cobra.

Agreed. Bika's wild stylings wouldn't inhibit or deter Froch IMO. Too much jab, too much power, just too much.
