Conn would win this in much the same way Calzaghe beat Lacey.
That is emphatically, and without room for argument.

    How inflammatory.

Conn was hardly slow and plodding himself.

Conn. Clearly. Prime Conn was a much better LHW than 44 year old B-Hop, and he would be able to land crisp counter punches much the same way Bernard did, but at a greater rate and in combination. I don't see Calzaghe beating many ATG LHW's, based on the fact that I think he lost to a faded version of Hopkins who I don't rate considerably high at 175.

Don't make me laugh - I gave David starry 11 of 12 rounds against calzaghe - also thought kessler walked it as well! I scored the fight against him bs bhop too - and jones couldve had him in 1. Lacy was a bum - calzaghes best was against vince philips and that was life and death - billy conn was an all time great who nearly beat joe louis for christs sake! Calzaghe would get embarrased - if you hadn't already gathered I think calzaghe is one of the most over rated fighters in history

Vince Phillips?!? That's Hatton ain't it

I was at Kessler-Calzaghe with the best view you can imagine. Kessler started well but Calzaghe adapted. I gave Kessler 4 rounds. When I scored it Upon viewing I had it to Calzaghe 116-112. Even though it was competitive, I can't see how you could say Kessler 'walked it'. I haven't seen the Starrie fight so can't comment on that one.

I'm no Calzaghe nuthugger, but I appreciate his ability. I haven't seen Conn at light heavy though so I'm not liable to comment on this match up, although Calzaghe at light heavy was an interesting fighter at 175 rather than a mind blowing one.

Hey fleaman you were at kessler-calzaghe!! Awesome what it like - any interesting memories from the night? Regards calzaghe could never get on with his slappy style I'm afraid ps   who was the guy calzaghe got off the floor to beat - and floored him with a tremendous counter hook I think - the only time I ever saw joe throw a good full blooded punch - sure it was something like Phillips ?? Ps I think frock might have spankd joe aswell - you been to any othr top fights btw?

Calzaghe is about the worst (feasible; I.e fighter Froch couldve conceivably fought) styles match-up for Froch I could imagine.

Saw Gavin Rees (former WBA light welterweight baublist and a contender for worst ABC tile holder in history) shouting at some girls and being rude to them. He was sat a few up from me. But he left halfway through the evening to get more pissed, I assume he went closer to the ring when Calzaghe fought as I didn't see him again.

    No poll?

Conn of 40/41 stops the Calzaghe of 2007/8.

**** post and usually you're pretty reasonable. Vince Philips what the ****? Kessler walked it? Lacy wasnt a bum until Calzaghe beat him. Only thing I agree with is the outcome. Conn obviously.

The Kessler fight was sort of close on points, but there must be something wrong with your eyes if you gave it to Kessler. He won his share of rounds, but he lost clearly was was being dominated at times. Though, I feel Calzaghe is overrated H2H considering his fight against Reid could have gone either way and he lost, imo, to Hopkins.

I have no problem with Conn being picked here, i pick him as well. ut Froch wouldn't know what day it is if he was in the ring with Calzaghe.
