Bum, word gets thrown around a lot on here by certain members

  3. He's a bum because that's the level he is at. The bald headed guy he got in the ring with is considered a bum in boxing, because they are fodder.

Benn is no different. Listen there are levels in boxing, from bum/tomatoe can, top prospects, journeyman, gatekeeper, contender to elite champions.

Benn is at the bottom. I'm not just judging from his last fight either, he fought a roman car washer on the undercard of the AJvsMartin card and also struggled.

If you struggle to take out that lvel of opponent, then you are a bum, you can be Obama's son for all I care, a bum is a bum.

And he didn't make no sacrifice, he's getting opportunities many real boxers dont get because of his daddy's connections.
He even admitted himself he only started boxing because he saw how much attention and limelight his dad was getting and wanted some for himself.

Nothing to do with making sacrifices as if he didn't have nothing else. He's not doing it for you or any of his nuthugging fanboys, he does it soley for the money and fame, but sadly not very good at it.

The worse thing is primal...eddie will use these bums to pad the joshua ppv cards....fkin disgraceful

  5. Of course, and then he'll sell them as 50/50 fights and have that nelson guy and his friend start raving about intense rivalries and have them on the gloves are off, and then the public will be well on board. Even when they prop him up against some more car mechanics and some guys who will get paid to take dives, the fanboys will start arguing that hes proven himself

Same **** happened with Ricky Burns, who is now a multi weight champ even though he has beaten mostly bums and lost whenever he had to fight a capable opponent, that wasn't a lame.

Now you try telling those drunken scottish ricky burn bandwagons anything different about their boy and they will snort out the whiskey and tell you he's world class on par with the legends of the game.

  6. Let me tell you connor fanboys why this guy ain't ****.

    He's got no power
    No head movement
    No ring IQ
    Poor Footwork,
    Is one dimensional
    No defence
No threatening Size to his Physique

Anyone care to explain to me why I'm wrong and how this sob is destined to replicate his dad's career, because that's what peeps have been saying.

Do people count Ricky Burns as some sort of legend? In my experience people tend to see him for what he is: a capable belt holder with a few decent wins who was found wanting against top drawer fighters. That or the nutjobs on here who think he's some sort of total bum who hasn't done anything worthwhile.

I didn't see his 2nd fight but if he went "life and death" with the handpicked 2-4-1 opponent, that suggests he needs to improve dramatically, even more so than most 2-0 fighters.
Because generally you'd expect a promising prospect to have any easy time with these types of opponent, even with so little experience.

Was it really "life and death" ?

  9. Yes it was life and death, went the complete utter distance, and the bald headed pub crawler managed to land significant shots and showed absolutely no respect for Connor's power, none

He does look like a total Bum. 19 years old isn't really that young to know how to throw punches properly, I've seen 13 year olds throwing better punches in the school playground. Doubt he's ever been involved in any kinda street fight in his life, only Streetfighter on his Xbox!

I wanna see him fight Breidis Prescott next year.

He put himself in harms way unnecessarily. I got the impression he didn't think he could be taken out so was happy to get involved in that sort of fight that he did. Life and death, I dunno... But certainly not the right fight for him.

There are things that he does very well for anyone, let alone a novice. They look very natural. There is,nor course, a shed load to learn.

He's not even a prospect yet. He's just a kid learning the game. He is getting some beaks because of who he is but his lack of amateur credentials means he 's going to do almost all of his learning in full view of everyone. That's a different kind of pressure and a different way of learning.

Folk need to calm down. He's just a boy. Writing him off is as silly as proclaiming him the next big thing. He'll find his level. Just give him time. He's certainly entertaining, regardless of the surname.

Fair comment, but it's very early in Connor's pro career and he's still a lot to learn. The spotlight is on him now because of his dad.
    He'll improve for sure.
Can I ask if you box or have in the past?

He's 19 years old with little amateur pedigree, give him a chance....

He's also boxed in front of two big crowds on two big bills, it's not surprising he's gone in there and had a tear up because that would get the blood pumping especially when your young, eager to impress and are being compared to someone like his old man.

This thread is just weird. It displays a ridiculous level of hatred and bile towards a young lad who is only trying to make his way in the game. I personally have my doubts about how far he will go, certainly seemed to just whale away in street brawler mode for most of his first two fights without showing too much in the way of technique and would be amazed if his career lived up to his dad's, but then how many do?

The kids is having his amateur career in the pros and still learning. People should just let him do it. Admittedly it's not right that he gets to be third support or whatever he was to a world title fight in his pro debut but don't hate the player, hate the game. Just let him develop slowly, no rush to judge he's only 19. If he ends up domestic level then so be it.

    He's a son of a *****? Care to explain?

Also, what is this, "peeps" have been saying he will replicate his father's career? Who has said this? The vast majority of views I have seen/heard have been pointing out his many flaws. Hardly anyone rates him as a future champion, let alone a top champion like his father.
