This, 100%. Benn is being managed correctly but if you take the hype and marketing away, and just let him fight (like he probably wants to) then his career would be unfolding much more quickly. Matchroom is taking a calculated gamble that the career might not pay off at world level in the end, but they can make a few bob finding out. Big money if the boy turns out to be decent.

It's interesting how much more Nigel has come into things in the last year though; he was nowhere to be seen at the start and even said he'd trust Matchroom to look after his kid, doesn't need to be involved, etc. Him getting in the mix of marketing and so on feels a bit desperate.
