There's no excuses in the next fight. Hooker, Sandor Martin, M.Garcia, V.Otriz and Mckinson are all DAZN fighters that would make for good fights. I've been happy with Benn's progress previously as he stepped in quality with each opponent till now with this South African guy being a step back.
Hearn’s problem with Benn is that literally nobody will have heard of him in the states until he fights someone who is known there. Van Heerden fits the bill to increase Benn’s profile and then he’s the potential golden goose if he does a 5 round demolition of him. Which he probably will do. I like Benn as a fighter and you can see the path Hearn is leading him down. If he steps up to proper world level in his next fight though he’s gonna get an absolute pasting.
The critique for this fight is understandable after all that over-the-top hyping by Hearn. But you have to remember that this is Benn's 5th fight in 17 months while all the other big names in the UK have fought once or twice. He's on a good run.
