The WBA are rotten to the core. Look at the sh*t they are pulling with Canelo keeping hold of both regular belts in seperte weight divisions. In regards to Benn- I'd be tempted, If I was matchroom, to drop the WBA trinket and focus on well matched domestic dust ups. Benn doesn't need the additional pressure with being a top 10 ranked fighter brings.
Why have tough domestic fights first when he can fight bums claim to be top 10 then cash out? Thats whats boxing's all about these days isnt it?
You beat me to it. Surely everyone around Benn knows he isn't going to carve out a career above British level - if they can inflate his record (and ranking) and get top 5 with WBA, he might get a voluntary and a million quid - happy days.
Connie Benn WBA top 6 - surely a mistake by OP intending for Benn to be mentioned next to his favourite rival TBA
I am still confused that Chris Eubank JR is now rated the number 2 SMW behind only Callum Smith on Boxrec.
Surely there's no way they'll ever envisage putting him against anyone remotely world level. I enjoy his fights but can't believe he's competing at welterweight; he'll get ironed out when he comes against anyone who can remotely bang
I like Connor Benn, entertaining fighter who comes across well. However everyone knows he will never be anything above domestic level.
It also counts number of punches landed on the heavy bag in 60 seconds, including artistic points for form and technique. In this Eubank Jr is actually the number 1. He is only number 2 because he has been robbed against Groves and BJS. He won both of those fights clearly and anyone who disagrees is a hater.
JEALOUSY, you're just annoyed because you're only ranked 11th. You don't see me complaining and I am 27th.
Conor Benn would be absolutely nowhere without the name, he looked bang average in both fights against a journeyman ex kickboxer. To be honest I find it hard to warm to the kid, he's behaved like a bit of an idiot and he's a fundamentally flawed boxer, when he tripped himself up doing the Ali shuffle was just ridiculous.
Super Middleweight is a division where the top fighters haven't really fought each other. Losing to Groves isn't a biggie, Groves was highly rated. Obviously Gilberto and Plant etc don't have the greatest resumes. Young Christopher is always on your minds, it's actually funny. You can't stop talking about the bloke
Amazing Yeah errr sorry, I didn't really think that joke through, Smith is.. let's forget that.. again I can only apologise
