Connor McGreggory vs. Georges Carpentier - 12 Rounder

Who would win a 12 round bout between these two?
The man who dedicated his career to boxing, or the man who ruled the UFC, fought 7 rounds with Mayweather, and also had the benefit of modern boxing knowledge?

 

So...Mcgregor?

 

Imagine someone got an antique camera to operate and film a modern boxing match. That would be great.

 

It’s actually pretty interesting, and pits
certain belief systems against each other.

If boxing is very advanced today, compared to Carpenters era, than a nobody like McGreggor should have a decent chance, right? Since he knows about combos, tripling up the jab, the ol’ 1-2-3-2, etc. He even lasted a handful of rounds against one of the goats, and landed punches on him.

Carpentier was top level, for his time. But how would he deal with head mooment, sharp punching, the diet and nutrition and fitness of McGreggor? Sure, Connor wasn’t a full time boxer, but he did benefit from all the modern boxing knowledge and technique available. He did Mitt work, sparred with Malinaggi, and even knocked him down.

Often fighters like a Carpantier are laughed at when matched up against more modern fighters. How far does that road go? Would Modern Connor McGreggory be too much for him?
