It was very telling to me that he withdrew from an English title eliminator. He still has yet to fight at area level. He's fun to watch because of that, which is fine, but Sky were using his name as a crowd pleaser and that was always going to create an ego for the lad. If he's any sense he'll do it the right way on smaller shows and learn properly.
People don't like nepotism and people don't like being told someone has a chance of winning a world title when they are absolutely worlds away from that sort of level, ultimately.
In every post fight interview, Connor himself would constantly be pointing out how many mistakes he made, how he had lots to learn and had just really started boxing. People like Spencer Oliver saying he will go on to world honours is no reason to give Benn the stick. What is he supposed to turn down the career and earn a standard wage or ride the bandwagon and nick a decent living.
I disagree. Him taking up a PPV fight slot against a part timer from Luxembourg is every reason to dislike him. If he wants to each a **** load for achieving relatively little then more power to him but don't expect everyone is like him for it.
That is an unbelievable attitude, so if you was him you would have said no thanks to the fight, I will wait for York Hall fight to come up. Also he would be getting a lot more money for a PPV slot and it is his job. I am not saying like him but hating a 22 year old kid, nicking a living and basically hoping for his career to be over is pathetic.
I'm a boxing fan. I do not care how much he gets paid or how well he lives. He is not my friend. I do not like him. I am not his accountant. My only interest in this sport is watching the best fights get made against the best available fighters. He is fighting below area level and he is taking up space on cards that fighters who aren't as lucky to have his surname but work just as hard could be filling. You're conflating things here. I do not blame him for taking the route that promises the most money but I sure as Hell don't have to like him for it. I don't recall saying that I want his career to be over prematurely. I've also found him to be quite unpalatable on social media, which he has been caught out on previously.
