Yeah better than I suspected, it really isn't a bad fight and people can't really criticise it. Tough fight for Benn, bookies have made him favourite at 8/13 and Formella is 6/5. Not sure what to make of the odds, on paper I'd have those odds the other way around.
I’m laying down on a Formella/Hammer double. Hammer’s odds corrected themselves a little but I suspect they’ll widen nearer fight night as idiotic Allen fans lay money down.
Nice bet, good luck. I think Allen gets beat rather easily, I think it's a stupid fight to take, it surprised me, even if he beat Hammer I don't see what it does for him? I expect Benn to lose, I will have to give him credit if he wins and that will pee me off LOL
Benns power might bail him out or he will get the decision if it's close. But I think Allen is gonna get battered!
Same boat as you on both counts. Both those guys are European level fighters. Allen has proved to be significantly below that level. Benn hasn’t proved he can mix at British yet, though I guess he could surprise. Which I suspect neither of us want.
Formella took a real beating of Porter so he is durable (120-108 on all cards) but I didn't see anything to suggest he is above Euro level. I don't think Hearn would have set this up if he did not think Benn could win, it's a cherry pick from Matchroom to suggest to casuals he is on the verge of a world title shot. As I predicted it looks like they are sidestepping British fighters completely to avoid exposing his true level.
I agree 100% But I also agree with @pow post above.. I don't think Hearn makes this fight with Benn unless he knows something we don't or he genuinely believes Benn has improved dramatically. As for Allen, not sure about that one, Allen has apparently turned down fights Hearn wanted, Allen has said a few recently things about getting "opportunities", he said he was just brought on PPV events to get beatings, so you never know, this might be the time Hearn cuts him loose if he is becoming a real headache.
Must have got a discount for doing the article. https://britishhairclinic.com/conor-nigel-benn-beard-transplant-treatment https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/10487261/conor-benn-beard-transplant-watch/ "Conor The Destroyer felt he needed a beard style to complement his hair and fighting style. Conor the son of boxing legend, former two-time world champion Nigel Benn, said he felt his beard was a feature that annoyed him about his appearance the most. ‘Its something that has been on my mind for a long time. I’ve never really had much of a beard and it bugs me’. Conor added that he had seen a few clinics offering beard and hair transplants but chose the British Hair Clinic based on ‘recommendations from former boxing campions, James DeGale and Pauli Malignaggi who I know well and both seemed delighted with their experiences with the British Hair Clinic’.
I don't think Conor Benn is much good in the grand scheme of things, and obviously he's only a known 'name' by virtue of his father, but he's willing, I think he genuinely likes to fight. And whatever hype he's had it's been nowhere near the claims Eubank Sr. and Jr. were making regarding Jr.'s status as a Mayweather-level talent.
Oh My God If I was an opponent all I would do is shred him for this, I wear tshirts with those quotes on, buy him fake beards as gifts, ask him if he is having manhood extensions next? I wouldn't stop, I go in to all sorts of personal insults... yeah I know it's not surprising because I'm a 24 carat tosser.
This board is really weird. People want Conor Benn to step up, he steps up against a guy who fought and lasted 12 rounds with Shaun Porter in his last fight. Now the complaint is that Eddie has a nefarious plan to hobble Benn's opponent so that Benn will win. Only on this forum....
Legit step up. Any top 10 British welter will do. Jenkins was game so where was the purse bid? This is a smokescreen.
