Have you ever heard so much sh*t in your life. He said Eubank might not be able to make 154, well we know that. But Benn is barely a welter calling out a full blown middle. Just give it a rest when you are fighting Chris Van Heerden next
I'd be buying a team Eubank t shirt if this somehow made it over the line. Utterly ridiculous concept of a fight though. The male equivalent of someone saying Katie Taylor should fight Shields.
I see Benn getting a hiding by the British light middles, Troy Williamson, Liam Smith, and Eggington. I cannot stand the idea fighting Eubank. Benn isn't a big welter, and Eubank can still easily make super middle at this stage. This fight is purely based on the names, and the potential of big money. Not taking Benn seriously until he fights a top welter in their prime.
Benn is chatting **** for clout. It’s part of his promotional strategy. Talk up fights against big names and then go back to the shallow end of the swimming pool. Eventually he will accidentally face a live body and when that happens get your popcorn ready.
Eubank could probably get to 157-158 safely, that really is it. It’s a great story given their Dads but Eubank is a far better and bigger fighter as things stand.
Eubank was fighting at 168 a year ago and Benn honestly expects him to come down to 154. We all know Van Heerden is getting announced.
This is just Benn using the old Benn-Eubank rivalry for clout, a bit of smart marketing really. He knows fine well Eubank can’t make 154
We're one stop from Benn becoming "Matchroom TV Champion" as the wrestling organisations did in the 80s. Fighter the crowd kind of likes, nowhere near world title contention but can hold an entertaining fight against his level or below. So invent a title where if he isn't beaten within the given time, he stays champion. That would suit Matchroom and Benn down to the ground. That said, I'd enjoy seeing Benn in there with Arn Anderson for 15 minutes.
