The problem is Conor Benn won’t give a damn who approves and who doesn’t, he’s already won out of boxing at this point

He’ll face someone like Garcia and get found out and we’ll all jump up and down claiming karma and job done when really what should have happened is Eddie should have sold him down the river after the positive tests -no other promoter would have picked him up - and he would have earned next to nothing out of the sport which is more relative to his skills and likability, Eddie/matchroom provided this blueprint for him to make obscene amounts of money that far outweigh his actual ability (because they too would benefit off the back of it) so it is somewhat hard to have sympathy for them in this situation, although we must all acknowledge the way in which it was carried out is very snakey indeed

All these ex champs/pros are annoyed because they see a relatively low level boxer with a bad attitude & popped dirty being paid well above what they ever got as genuine, clean top level athletes, unfortunately it’s just a sign of where boxing, and the world in general, currently is

He was getting plenty of cheers during the Eubank rematch wasn’t he?

Agree he’s probably never had much of a traditional boxing fanbase, and I’m not convinced he draws an audience without a Eubank (or similar) dance partner, but I’ve always assumed he’s popular amongst the casual/wannabe influencer audience.

I feel like he's gonna go broke one day. One of those guys who will have to keep fighting forever.

That’s the risk with the lifestyle he’s building. It’s not the initial cost that gets you, it’s the maintenance.

The same exact thought entered my mind. Even before he was making any money, I remember seeing a video of him driving to Simm's gym in his RangeRover and he had one of his team dropping him off loads of designer clothes. He just strikes me as one of those really materialistic kids growing up that had to have all the latest designer labels. The fact the Hearn said he lent him money to get a house, then lent him a load more to get a Rolls Royce should tell you all you need to know about him. You can blatantly see him spunking all his money up the wall before he gets to 60

Yeah, I say that because when you start throwing your money round like that and make videos to tell people that you're making lots, it gives me vibes of him about to burn through it and a bit of insecurity deep down too.

He does put his dad in business class though and not first class (and moans when other people don't pay for it). So it seems he has got some sense of financial thriftiness, at least when it comes to spending money on anyone other than himself. What a guy.
