We will see just how good Benn is assuming they can keep him away from the chicken coop. Regardless how this crap got in Benns system, I'm not going to keep banging on about it, We've seen before what happens to fighters once they are "clean". They never seem to get better or improve.. we could list them. My understanding is Benn will fight Coke Head Brook who is quite clearly shot to pieces. Hearn has zero shame and will spin the fact Brook is depressed, has/had a drug issue as he is doing Brook a favour by getting back in the gym and giving him a purpose in his life. They know full well Brook is a shell but he is a name, they have to drive interest somehow, Brook is a former world champion who not that long ago battered Amir Khan, Brooks a former world champion and it addresses the fact Benn went around all domestic rivals. But.. The fact they tried to or are still trying to make a fight with 44 year old Pacquaio who has fought once in nearly 4 years fight tells you all you need to know. They are going to have to go backwards a little bit (if that is possible) to rebuild Benns fake confidence. They need some "names" who are soft touches to inflate Benns ego again.. "PPV Baby". And Thurman wouldn't be or isn't the one, he has too much left, Thurman can punch, he's been there seen it and done it and he would batter Benn senseless right now.
If you can remember how good Benn was pre gear, when he fought the French pastry chef and got dropped 3 times. Then one can only imagine what Thurman would do to him. Assuming of course he stops chemically enhancing himself. I think this is the reason why he keeps on picking on semi retired, shot big names. He knows in his heart of hearts he doesn’t have what it takes.
Brook needs to stay away, get in the gym, become a trainer or find another love in life just stay away from all the new generation boxers, could even get a couple of exhibitions in the future. As for Keith i think and hope he beats un-juiced Benn.
