The very much protected and in my opinion overhyped Conor Benn will be taking a step up on November 21st when he takes on Germany's number one ranked welterweight Sebastian Formella who is coming off a points loss to Shawn Porter.

Team Benn are talking about making a statement on the 'world stage' which is strange considering young Conor hasn't wanted to go anywhere near the British title yet but meh, how do you see this one going? Is the the fight in which Conor's obvious limitations are exposed?

Formella already has a couple of wins beyond a stage Benn has already fought at. He’s not amazing but he’s solid enough. Unless Benn has miraculously doubled his ability as a fighter behind closed doors or he gets some dodgy scorecards, I can’t see him winning.

My bet would be on a points win for Formella

Benn's toughness should get him through and Formella isnt a puncher. But I would expect Formella to dominate, as the experience and skills difference should be vast in this one.

Credit to Benn for achieving what he has achieved so far as a pro, as he didnt have much of an amateur career and is very raw and inexperienced.

Or has been taking advantage of the lack of testing and following an intense Canelo diet.

If he’s been training with Ingle, then nailed on win for Benn...

Ha. I watched the Lance Armstrong documentary on iplayer (highly recommend). At one point he’s describing all the different ways of ingesting PEDs, creams that you can pass off as for saddle sores (which he did for one failed test), nasal sprays...

Immediately made me think of BJS and Ingle...

It’s an interesting bit of matchmaking...putting him in with another fighter who isn’t a big puncher. Benn is a very fit lad who swings for the trees and is willing to take one to land one. He will back his own power and try to enforce his style and will on a fighter who wants to stick to boxing. For that reason you have to give him a good chance here. Formella will land, but will he have the pop to stop the male version of Persoon...I doubt it.

It makes me wonder if Hearn has simply had enough of him and decided that if he can't fight at a decent level then now's the time the jettison him. He's prob earning a lot more than his performances have actually warranted.

What has he achieved as a pro?

Possibly. I guess it Formella wins Hearn can probably put him in with someone and if Benn loses it’s easy to patch over it anyway

I really don't see what they can do with Benn as I don't think he's good enough to win the British title without them handing it to him. Chances are any incumbent champ beats him pretty easily IMO so it won't be easy to rebuild with him falling at the first major hurdle.

He has fought and won at the O2, York hall and echo arena in front of big crowds. I think many boxers out there would love to swap places with him. Yes he doesnt have any recognised titles. But he has done well

Whilst I hear you this is all because of who his dad is and connections. You and I could have had solid amateur careers and would have had to really work hard as pro's to get the exposure and opportunities that Conor Benn has had. He's done well but he's not had to do it the way lads like Eggington have had to, Conor Benn never grew up poor and he's never had to balance his work life with boxing like many of his opponents have, Cole took a fight with Benn at a days notice and had to get permission from his work to get the Friday off to prepare.

While it is not disputed that Conor is where he is because of daddys name and finances.

I still actually give him credit for his career so far. So many children of rich parents achieve naff all, end up being nothing.
Many end up being drug addicts or just living off their parents.
Conor has that inner drive to not only follow in fathers footsteps but also do well in fathers sport.

How proud must Nigel Benn feel watching his son fight? As a father I will tell you it brings him great joy
