what would have happened if it was Macgregor connecting with KHabib's chin instead of Johnson ? KHabib showed that yes he is a top level grappler and he also showed he is consistently in the pocket where he can be hit as he looks for an opportunity to go for a takedown , that is where Mac feasts and KHabib will lose there .
It's a real 50/50. If Khabib can get his striking anywhere near his grappling, Conor is dead meat. If Conor lands like Johnson did on Khabib, it'll be Conor's second easiest win after Aldo and a BIG legacy booster (as he's beaten the No.1 contender & defended the belt, something he never did @ FW). A true Stiker vs Grappler fight.
It's a 50-50 fight imo as well. Conor miles better on the feet, Khabib miles better on the floor. Conor won't be able to use his kicks because that will make it easier for Khabib to get him down. If Conor goes down he will stay down until either he is finished or the bell rings but each rd will start on the feet. It's a very interesting fight but I favour Khabib he is the bigger man.
