Anyone catch this fight on the undercard? Really enjoyed it Conquest deserves a hell of a lot of credit dropped in the 1st & 2nd so 20-16 down on the cards & looked vulnerable every second of both opening rounds. Camacho thinking he had it in the bag to me switched off,got lazy & Tony Conquest boxed a great fight from that point on.Intelligent attacks decent combinations & totally out worked Camacho & to me thankfully the judges deserve credit for calling it as they did. Real credit to both fighters would love to see them do it worth a look anyone that didn't see it.
Certainly true there TT for me just a good honest domestic fight which I enjoy a lot more than the mismatches you have to endure on most TV undercards!
Hats off to him & made some adjustments to counter Camacho that worked from the 3rd onwards his corner gave him some great advice.
Yep, one of the best domestic fights this year. Really pleased for Conquest. Wadi threw it away. Heard Conquests ifilm interview after and he said Dawson is due to fight JLD next for the title and he will fight the winner, is that confirmed? Think Conquest-JLD will be a half decent scrap as well. I like the cruiserweight division - nobody domestically really stands out (maybe Simmons) but a lot of even contests o be made and are often fun fights. It is hard to rank the following: JLD, Simmons, Conquest, Dawson, Keane, Camacho, Askin, Clarke - 8 or so at a similar level.
Camacho seems like an arrogant bloke, so glad Conquest, who seems like a very decent guy, got the win. And the whole "yeaahh buddy!!" thing is ridiculous.
Great fight, credit to Conquest for showing massive heart. As a Simbo fan I would like to see Simmons in with him next but Tony has earned the title shot and hopefuly Wadi is relegated to a level I don't need to hear his dilusional pish anymore
Spot on not alot between any of them but should be some good hard competitive fights ahead between them & if more are like Saturday night's fight all good!
As soon as Camacho stopped chucking out the jab in the third round he was in trouble. He set a good pace early, but just couldn't keep that up. The extent he was open to the right hand from Conquest was unbelievable. Conquest was throwing double right hands over and over again and they just kept thudding off Camacho's head. How his corner (or him for that matter) didn't pick up on that and adjust was beyond me. Good fight and nice to see Camacho get his just deserts for the arrogance. His arsey reaction to the decision said it all. The cards may have been a bit wide, but the decision was right.
