    But conversely, with fighters of the past, you get a more complete perspective. Being able to see the fighters career in in its entirety as well as their life outside of prizefighting. Example would be Joe Louis. If it was 1940 I would certainly see him differently. Besides I do find myself getting emotionly attached to even old fights. When I watch Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling 1 the next thing I want to do is see the rematch.

    I know exactly what Rob is saying. I tend to say my 'alltime' faves are guys that are retired, whether I lived to see them or not.

    Never done an amalgamated combat list before but I've ended up with my boxing criteria of 'alltime' and 'active' favourites.

    My active guys would be

    1. Nick Diaz
    2. Carl Froch
    3. Korean Zombie
    4. Damian Maia
    5. Saenchai

    I have blotted the last few years of Roy out of my head, hence why he isn't top of my active list.

    I feel Ayrton Senna should get a mention even tho he was a F1 driver solely based on the balls he had ramming into other racers with his car just so he could win

    As for Rambaa it's his Muaythai career that puts him on my list, he no longer participates in Muaythai so... though I do like him as an MMA fighter...

    I wanted to place Mousasi in my top 5. Machida too.

    BTW since when was Diaz so popular on this forum? I like the way Nick fights but he is nauseating to listen to it started to wear on me. Still a fan.

    OMG :patsch You´re right, my man Pelé, completely forgot him.
    My love for Pelé is simple to explain, when I was a kid me and my cousins went to the videostore and there was plenty of vale-tudo tapes in there, the IVC ones were our favorites, and Pelé was always so fun to watch...he is the first fighter I watched, in any type of combat sports, obviously I didn´t know nothing about fighting at that time, but those emotions return everytime I watch Pelé fighting.
