Considering Dawson vs Calzaghe logically

    Now I am not a great Calzaghe fan & I do hate the fact he has no love for the sport but I do respect him as a fighter & it does seem to me all you boxing fans out there need to remember a few things when you continue to speak about a match with Dawson.

    When you stop, slow down & think about it logically Dawson hasn't done anything to deserve a fight with Calzaghe. Who has Dawson beat? He won a fight against Johnson many say he lost while you certainly can't claim Tarver is in Joe's league because Joe Calzaghe & Bernard Hopkins are like to peas from a pod, they're so similar its scary and look what Hopkins did to Tarver. I mean can you honestly say hand on your heart you think Tarver would have beaten Joe? Honestly? It would have been the mirror reflection of Hopkins beating he laid down on Tarver only with a little less counter punching and more inside work.

    Dawson has has beaten Tarver, Johnson, Adamek, and Harding. Johnson is the same guy that Calzaghe backed out against twice. Dawson is also a two time champ and is only 26. He's certainly more accomplished than Manfredo and Bika, and is about as accomplished as Kessler. Furthermore, when it looked like HBO wasn't going to poney up enough money to stage Calzaghe vs. Kessler, Showtime offered to broadcast the fight. They had one stipulation, Cazlaghe would've had to fight Dawson first at 168. Team Calzaghe quickly rejected that offer.

    If Dawson were to beat Calzaghe it would be a great victory to those who consider Joe to be a great fighter. It would also be a great victory for Calzaghe detractors as they would get to see Calzaghe lose.

    besides Eubank and B-Hop Dawson is more accomplished than anyone Joe's ever fought so I'd say he deserves a shot. **** if Manfredo and Bika got shots why doesn't Dawson deserve one? Oh I know cause he's actually a threat.

    Even against Johnson Joe would be the favourite guys come on now....Yes, he did drop out of fightss with him but he was going through a very messy divorce and possible criminal proceedings did you know that?


    Dawson hasn't done anything really though to be frank. Stop for a moment and consider what you're saying BigReg, people would just say Dawson was overated and bring his resume up exactly as I have just done should he lose while if Calzaghe won you know they'd just say he wasn't in his league just like Pavlik this past weekend. It's a lose lose situation

    You're not really taking on board what I'm saying in my post, you're detracting and there's a difference.

    I am however interested in this Dawson 168lbs offer pre Kessler - I had no idea that happened have you got any links so I can read up on this? I'd be really appreciative.

    Who is Chad? Chad is rated number 1 as light heavy and by almost every boxing expert thats who. You are obviously not a boxing fan, When you have ask who have he beat. Tarver rated 1, Johnson rated 3, Adamek rated 6, and Harding a top 10. Who is he? who the **** is peter manfeddro, and bika and the rest of joe's long list of tomatoe cans. Who the **** did Lacy beat or kessler? you nut huggers are lame.

    Joe is fighting a current version Roy that was starched by 2 guys that Dawson just beat. So what does he get out of fighting an old Roy? Kessler is not as good as Dawson and has a similar resume and accomplishments. Both Dawson and Kessler would be young, undefeated, highly rated fighters. What did he get out of Kessler that he wouldn't out of Dawson? I have no problem with Joe not fighting Dawson, but let's not act like Dawson isn't a worthy opponent. That's pure nonsense.

    I didn't say Dawson would lose I said deserve. Besides, if Dawson is so much bigger than don't you think it would be a mismatch therefore unfair? Why would you want to see such an unfair fight oeclot?

    Tliang1000 do you honestly think Adamek/Tarver or Harding would beat Joe Calzaghe?

    BigReg I agree Joe should not be fighting Roy it's a farce & I doubt it will be very close I see Joe winning comfortably (I actually wanted Tarver/Taylor) but to you I ask the above that I asked Tliang1000.

    Tarver and Adamek will be tough fights for joe but will come short. Chad will **** Joe. There is no doubt about that. I will bet thousands on chad.

    Who cares if they could beat Calzaghe? What does that prove? And Adamek and Tarver, along with Johnson, can beat Calzaghe. Hopkins is the only guy on Calzaghe's resume that could beat Dawson.
