Well, I joined and had my first day today. Wow. My skill level dropped to zero after all this time. I mean sure its been a while since I was formally trained but damn. I was just off. Everything from my jab to my hook made me look like a newbie. Pad work was a disaster because of that. I did learn some new defensive things I never even considered doing and it showed just how bad my defense was prior. It made me wonder how I haven't been completely dominated in the fights I've had. Today was embarrassing, but necessary. I'm going back tomorrow to regain my pride(and form). BTW gym fee is $25, monthly personal training is $150
It used to cost me £3 a day to train at my local boxing gym, so $5 a day to train at the Wild Card is bargain of the century. Obviously you aint getting no Freddie time, but im sure his other trainers must be to a really high standard. These are all the trainers who work out of Wildcard Irish Tommy Barett of South Boston Troy "Bodacious" Bodean Eric Brown Buboy Fernandez Marcus “It Ain’t Easy” Harvey Juan Carlos “El Panda” Martinez Paul Mayorquin Cynthia Prouder Sammy "The Toy" Stewart Anyone familiar with any of them?
It's only open for us 2 days a week now, from monday 6:45 to around 8 and the same on wednesday, They earn there money from the amateurs fighting i think... I need to find my self a new boxing gym =/
If you don't mind me asking, could you give some more details on the training? You say monthly training is 150; what does that include? How many sessions? With which trainer? Thanks!
i used to pay $8 a session at my old gym which had kick ass facilities but got next to no time with a trainer..the gym im at now is free cos its only open a couple of hours a week, and i do probably 40 minutes 1 on 1 a night.
