    Hey guys,

So I've FINALLY managed to get a sparring video done, wew.

Thoughts and tips please? I'm the guy in RED

Remember I've been entirely self training up until a month ago so I'm trying my best.

Things I can see that need to be worked on -
Hands too low on entry, hands too low on exit.
Swatting his jab with the left hand too much(missed a few times and was countered).

Let me know what you think and what you cant see that I'm not doing.

    nice work,
Maybe some more work on combinations to start with, you seemed to throw the jab a few times and freeze, either get out right away or throw a straight to the body and maybe a left hook to the body ( his stomach was aching to get punched).

Also extending the jab fully would be something to work on, and throwing it from the outside a little more.

I liked the parry and counter jab and the counter right hands. Also your footwork/ movement is coming along great.

Firstly, you look great considering you're entirely self-taught. Well done! :bbb

From what I could see you've got good footwork, keep it up! The camera angle doesn't show the full picture but looking decent.

    • I noticed you pawed the jab a few times and left it hanging. Make sure you bring it straight back, quicker boxers will be quick to exploit that.
    • Your chin is perhaps a bit too open, keep it tucked in, even at range. Imagine you've got a tennis ball between your shoulder and chin and you need to keep it there.
    • Weaving - you're weaving quite nicely as it is, however try throwing a combo then weaving. Keep the guy guessing which way you weave, alternating as often as you can.

Above is just my opinion, but keep up the good work. Considering it was your first time sparring and you're self-taught, I'd say you did pretty darn well.

That was good man, I'd suggest mixing it up to the body as well. High, low, high, low.

    Yep.

    I agree.

I'd add that you should use more head and waist movement in general, not only for defense but you will get a better angle for body shots, uppercuts and you can use defensive movements to step aside without losing your guard.

I noticed (comparing with your shadow boxing video) that you worked in your right arm in guard, not only protecting but it's also more difficult to predict when you are going tu use that hand (your straight right landing is the proof).
