Ok, this has probably been posted before..
    My apologies if so,

My problem is; i have pretty bad eyesight, so when i spar i wear contact lenses. However last week i was sparring with my contact lenses in and one of them fell out. My trainer advised me not to wear them when i'm training, i tried this but my eyesight is just to bad and i find it hard to anticipate shots, which obviously makes me get hit more..

So just wondering, anyone else have poor eyesight? If so what do you do about it?

-2.75, i'll just have to get used to it without then i suppose..I'll try leaving them out all day on the days when i'm training, cause that way at least i get used to not having them in a little

I spar with mine in. I loose one from time to time, it takes a few seconds to adjust but usually it's not too much of a problem. In addition, it's an added incentive not to get hit.

I'm hoping to save up the money for laser treatment soon, I'm kind of sick of contact lenses in general.

Get some of those real tears pod thingys and wet your eyes before you spar. It helps keep them in. Usually they fly out because they're dry.
They come out, it's going to happen but the drops really help.

I'm somewhere between -2 and -2.5, but since I only wear glasses when watching tv, driving a car and activities like that, not wearing them in the ring never bothered me.

If your vision is really bad, it does make a difference. But you should train every once in a while without them just so you are prepared if they do fly out.

I'm -2.25 and can't see ****! I can't see people's faces unless they're at most 2 or so metres away. Sparred without lenses once though and was fine seeing as your opponent is only an arm length away 99% of the time.

The difference between the two may screw up your depth vision. I had a damaged cornea which made my left eye much worse than the right and suddenly my depth vision went awkward.

    My contacts prescription:

    right eye: -4.50

    left eye: -5.50

my vision is pretty much twice as bad as yours, and there's no way in hell i can spar without wearing contacts.

I noticed that TORIC type (contacts for Astigmatism) lens come out much easier than regular soft contacts.

I am currently wearing Toric type lens, but I am considering getting additional regular soft contacts just to spar in. I don't think the slight sacrifice in astigmatism correction will bother me too much.
