How long we got left for contact sports before it's all stopped?

It'll come, but in what time frame are we talking, do you reckon?

contact sports like boxing have always come with dangers, but with more and more evidence of softer sports like footballers as an example (soccer players) suffering CTE from heading a ball for years now coming to light more and more....

Is punching other people in the head for a living living on borrowed time now?

    What's your thoughts on it?

Its a bigger business than its ever been.

As long as it keeps making money, it'll keep rolling.

Alcohol kills brain cells too...theyre not banning that.

As long as the male species exists it’ll never end. If there’s any breakthrough in the distant future it’ll probably be on how to reverse brain damage so fighters can extend their careers for several decades with 100s of fights.

It's not going anywhere due to demand. Football is very different because more people participate in it than any other sport. So injury issues are several magnitude's higher. Combat sports will always have a demand it might mean some changes over time maybe with gloves or headgear but the reality is it's had detractors throughout it's history. There's too much money and interest for anything to happen.
Also even if you banned it in say the US or the whole of the West there would be plenty of other countries that would pick up the slack and potential income. So you would never get an agreement between all countries because that's not how things work.

Just look at the rule changes in Football, Hockey, and other contact sports. we are probably 10-15 years away from either flag or touch football, no hit Hockey, etc. Boxing is dying off on its own here in the states.

Eventually it will be outlawed, certainly not in my lifetime and maybe not in yours, but eventually. However, that won't stop it. Fighting will just go underground. There is too much money and too much interest for it to completely cease.
