Oh i'm ashamed now! kidding, yeah Saldivar for me is one of the greatest 126 pound fighters

 

Yeah, he's right up there as one of the greatest of the 60's in any weight class imo, a little dynamo he was. Winstone was great too, wonderful to watch, just lacked the dig to keep Sal off of him though he had him licked for scientific boxing much of the time.

 

He did, if it wasn't for the tips of the fingers eh? Saldivar wasn't quite as unskilled as some say though, true he was a come forward man, but there was technique being executed there.

 

Yep, Saldivar was excellent at slipping and parrying blows, had nimble footwork and a good jab for man his height to set up them sharp and accurate combo's on the inside. Not the textbook definition of skill but an excellent skillset all the same; it sure worked for him.

I always liked that snippet of him against Winstone, i'm sure it was their last fight, where he's chasing his man ferociously around the ring but jabbing while he's doing it.
