gosh you're dumbshits for watching this show. its a mundine sideshow and tailored for his match. theres no point kicking up a stink? dont buy his pay per views? dont watch his sideshow either.
The worst thing about the whole thing the best chance of seeing a real fight against Mundine was just taking away. In Junior not getting the decision. Now it looks like we will see Probably Mundine vs Oganov. Why oh Why did the let the best two fighters in the Contender fight each other first up. Now we all know for sure its rigged so Mundine gets a easy fight against more than likely Nadder again. Dont retire Junior you will have your redemption.
Another bull**** decision. Junior won that fight hands down. Oganov proved once again he's nothing more than a big punch, couldn't box chocolates. I agree with Boppa, I real threat to mandy has just been taken away & I bet he's relieved. The sooner someone shuts Sonni's mouth the better................the man has no class at all.
i knew this was gonna happen.bad luck to junior he lost his zero in a farcical decision.he knocked back a shot at Sturm to fight probably his mate from the Mosque and Geale.standard Mundine ****.even Ashley cant defend this.'oh but he took Green to school'3 years ago.atsch
:deal and the fight with Nader will go 12 again.i didnt watch the first one but seen the wrap up on the fox sports news.lots of smiling and backslapping with Mundine the winner again.
This content is protected When I watched the fight on the Contender program I thought that Junior went sensational BUT when I watched the complete fight on Fox 8 I changed my mind. Junior may have thrown more combinations but plenty of his shots were either taken on the gloves or landed with little effect. Victor was landing good clean shots with power and I believe that's what the judges also saw. Victor was the aggressor and in the close rounds like R1 and R3 he done enough to get the points. In the end you had one couragous guy who fought beautifully and done enough to upset the favourite while the other guy fought below expectations as many believed that he would KO Junior or at the very least hurt him with some big shots. This may have some giving the close rounds to Junior when the facts were that he took more power shots than he landed. Yes, Junior put on a great show but that counts for little when you are judging a fight. Victor landed clean power shots throughout the fight and Junior done himself no favours with his constant holding and running from Oganov when he should have been loooking to score. I had no issues with Victor winning rounds 1,3 and 5 which gave him the fight.
I understand that Mundine won't find many fans here but to suggest that Junior Talipeau would give Mundine any sort of problems at present is wishful thinking at best. Apart from giving away height to Choc (a huge disadvantage due to style) he lacks experience and has never had a 12 round fight. I like Junior as a fighter but he still has a long way to go before he becomes a true title contender although at 25 years of age there's time to improve his game. He has nice hand speed, a good jab and his work rate will count for plenty if he can keep it up for 12 rounds but he lacks the power to take out or hurt his opponents or wear down fighters with hard bodyshots. I'm also concerned that he has not had enough tough opposition to have him mentally prepared for fights with quality opposition. This became apparent v Oganov in a close fight that was there for the taking had Junior backed his ability and gone offensive instead of running away. Experience makes all the difference and had he fought some tough opposition leading up to the fight v Oganov he may have found that next gear that would have made all the difference. Hopefully they'll start stepping him up in class now he has lost his clean record.
Thanks ajay - i think people shouldn't comment until they've seen the whole fight, not the edited rubbish we're fed on the night.
so what you're saying is the edited rubbish is actually edited to make it appear that the guy who lost actually won. :rofl:rofl:roflatsch
i agree Mundine would beat junior but he would fare better than Oganov.if Oganov wins this and fights choc he will cop more shots to the face than Carson Kressly.
Don't slap yourself too hard MILF Maybe that is the way they edit it to - I don't know - try to create some controversy/attract attention to the show/give the storyline a twist at the end etc..... I don't think they're pitching the show JUST at the hardcore boxing fan who are analyzing every punch!
I still haven't seen all of the fight, but surely eveyone can appreciate the Contender is about creating drama for non-fans rather than real boxing fans? Just watch the full fights on the web rather than edited fights, and no crappy drama inserted to make it allegedly more interesting, the fights are the interesting bits, the background is incidental. From what I recall of the overseas versions I had very different conclusions about some of the fights from the show vs the full fight on the web, maybe it was just lack of sound, maybe not, but there is very little on TV these days that is not setup or completely rehersed, sport is not supposed to be, but when it's done for TV like this format I'm skeptical. When Mundine is the prize I'm even more skeptical. As for Junior losing a clean record, too much importance is placed on zeros these days, it should not be such a big deal.
