It's nothing new, but in case people were unaware, Alfonso Gomez's This content is protected team put up the unedited versions of Alfonso Gomez vs Peter Manfredo I and Alfonso Gomez vs Ahmed Kaddour from the first season of the Contender on their Youtube channel about three months ago. Gomez fought beautifully on the Pac-Cotto undercard. No one here mentioned anything about it, but he was sharper than ever. Thanks for posting.
Thanks. The edits make you believe what they want you to believe. I now think khadour won. I still think manfredo sucks.
Yeah Khadour did the cleaner work, landed the more telling shots, Gomez pushed the pace and maybe looked a little busier. I guess it comes down to what you prefer.
Its weird to think that Manfredo almost beats Lacy yet Gomez was made out to be a D level fighter by Cotto.
Tru but Manfredo got a shot at Calzaghe too ( I know it turned into a joke ) Cone to think of it he's had a decent career off the back of being pish
You would think Lacy stops Gomez easy though. Of course the A>B>C thing dont work but I just find that weird. I mean if Manfredo & Gomez never fought and they were to fight now, based on what we know everyone would probably be picking Manfredo. Heck even Mora beat Vernon Forrest.
Lacy was totally shot when he fought Manfredo, and Forrest was under-prepared in his first fight with Mora. And Gomez fought Cotto when he was unable to close his right fist completely due to a prior injury, plus he had gotten terribly sick midway through his training camp, so he wasn't at his best to say the least. As to the Kaddour fight, Gomez pretty clearly wins the first three rounds, and imo, the fourth, and then Ahmed takes the fifth. Hard to give Ahmed much credit for cleaner work when he's getting outlanded/outworked so dramatically and pushed around the ring most of the fight.
