    True **** right here....

We complain about it, then when they fight the best, we give them **** for not winning impressively.

Update: Apparently Angulo was guarenteed another HBO appearence even if he lost and he was also going to keep his no.1 WBC ranking at JMW had he lost. I take back my defense of Angulo. This was a no lose situation for him and he still turned it down. That's dissapointing.

    its amusing reading this tread.

especially considering, that its quite accepted on this site and in general, that fighters "always" go after the money.

i cant even remember how many threads ive read, where its been mentioned, that fighter A should not fight B, just because he doesnt bring something to the table.

I feel all what your saying, but "fans" have a part in this too, why does a loss mean so much, see Devon Alexander. The kid wins a fight that some think he may have lost and now he's a "hypejob" etc etc. The reason why not losing is everything is because it's what the paying public demands.

Arum is at least still making good fights. I don't give a **** if they are in house or vs. anopther promoters fighters. A good fight is a good fight.

Haymon is worse then Arum. He uses his fighters to get leveage with HBO and get other fighters on TV.

This post pretty much clears up things IMO...We as fans have been guilty of that as you've stated...Its a double standard if you actually break down the situation.

Too much truth in one post. :deal

People ask "Why?" Look in the mirror. YOU are boxing fans. What do YOU do when guys take tough fights and lose or look bad? There is your answer.

People forget boxing is a business, and that first and foremost, it's participants are trying to make a buck and feed their families. If they and their advisers conclude that the risk isn't worth the reward for a particular fight, as a fellow human being, I can't really blame them.

As a boxing fan, of course, I want to see the best fight the best. But in many cases, I can understand why this does not always occur. Mayweather avoiding Pacquiao is an exception to this, however. There is no legitimate financial reason why this fight shouldn't occur.
