Contrary to popular belief, Jermain Taylor is currently underrated by most fans.

Who do you favour over him at 168?

great post man, the ammount of hate he was getting prior to the first Pavlik fight made me pull for him.

Klion, I am convinced the guy could have been a top flight athlete in whatever sport he decided to play

Green could make it competitive because he's got good talents too and he could probably box Taylor from the outside. But Taylor can match and even exceed his hand speed. I would favor Taylor.

Lacy? Come on. That guy is one dimensional and Taylor would finish him.

    Mikkel Kessler
    Anthony Mundine
    Lucian Bute
    Librado Andrade

Those are the three fighters I've seen extensive footage on and I'm very comfortable picking them over Taylor. I haven't seen enough of Inkin or Braehmer to give an educated prediction, so I'd like to hear more about those matchups from you. Froch is a 50/50 fight to me. He could hurt Taylor, but if Taylor comes properly motivated, he could also outbox Froch and do enough to win a decision. Dangerous, dangerous fight. I'd take Taylor over Jeff Lacy, Allen Green, Andre Dirrell, Markus Beyer, and Edison Miranda. Sakio Bika is an interesting fight. Don't know who I'd favor, but it would be fun to watch. Bika's swarming, roughhousing attack against Taylor's more traditional skills.

    I'm probably missing a few.

Green gives him more trouble than Lacy?:huh

I'd favour Taylor over both, wouldn't favour him over the pre-Calzaghe Lacy, but would now definitely and would favour him to easily dispose of Allan Green.

He may have meant Danny Green, who's retired.

I agree with that. I favour Kessler by domination and stoppage, Mundine by clear decision, Bute by clear decision and Andrade by a great scrap, grinding Taylor down to a KO.

I favour Taylor over Bika, Lacy, Green, Dirrell, Beyer, Miranda etc.

I favour him over Stieglitz, but think Stieglitz gives him a very tough fight stylistically. Taylor by clear decision or late stoppage(Stieglitz has been stopped by huge punchers, in which Taylor is not).

50/50's include Tsypko, Inkin, Froch, & Braehmer.

Braehmer is very good, just hot and cold, if he came in 100%, I'd take Braehmer for the KO in a competitive fight.

lol ... sure must be ...

Taylor would have given Calzaghe a fight to the death with a KO possible due to his superior athleticism and power. Same thing for any of the so-called best at 168 .... Kessler, Bute, etc. Taylor, Miranda, & Pavlik can hang with anyone at 168 ... competitive with EVERYONE in the division ... a hard tough fight for EVERYONE in that division.

Of course Green gives Taylor more trouble than Lacy because Lacy is one dimensional while Green actually has some talents and can box.

Green's defence and chin is poor, stylistically he is easy for Taylor also. Lacy at least brings pressure, something Taylor doesn't like.

I never understood the hyping of Allan Green. This is a guy who was decked hard by McCrary and nearly lost to Emmett Linton.

    Amsterdam,

Am i sensing a change in your beliefs? Now you are admitting that Taylor will beat most SMWs out there outside of the elites when all along you said that he would do nothing at SMW. So which is it?

Not to mention he looks at his feet every 3 seconds and can never seem to explain why.

That guy is one to look out for. I think his hand speed, right now, is faster than anyone in boxing. I was watching his fight with Hanshaw and i literally didn't see some of his punches. Simply amazing hand speed.
