"Mickeyblueeyess" has proven himself time and again to be an idiot who is completely devoid of any true insight, don't sweat it.

Great ****ing post man. Alot on here are haters and alot simply don't know ****.

Johnson had a very good D and is rather slippery. No one is going to look good against that.

But Vitali's handspeed, reflexes, ability to slip shots were just the same as his last 4 fights.

he's 39 and threw over 1000+ punches. Keep hating ******s.

Did you see the fight? Have you seen many?

The man stood on the ropes with his shoulder high, and ducked so every other right hand punch would have been illegal and hit him in the back of the head, and the "man" had the nerve to complain about it.

What's his face's plan worked, take away Vitialli's right hand.
Well it works for a Toney or a Mayweather, but they hit back.

Just be glad what's his face will never ever be on TV again.

I was surprised that Vitali had no way to get to Johnson when he ducked away from the right hand. If Haye can do that, he'll eventually catch Vitali and it will be up in the air.

I don't agree with the criticism of VK. Anytime a fighter faces someone who has a quickness advantage and is content to lose the fight on his feet, it's probably not going to be a glorious night.

VK's punches did appear to lack snap to me, but I think a lot of that was he was struggling to find the range and thus sacrificed quality to get more quantity.

Haye isn't as big or talented defensively as Johnson, and no one trusts his chin. If he tried to win the fight he'd have to take a lot of chances, and odds are he'd get starched.

But I agree Johnson could have made this bout much more interesting if he'd tried, but he'd have made himself vulnerable to a KO, too.

Few corrections. He was stunned at one point in the later rounds.

Haybe, Chambers are much faster than Johnson so one shouldnt compared them based on reach and weight alone.

Vitali is 38 years old, and possibly still suffering from history of injury.
And I never rated the opposition available to him.
I wouldn't be surprised if he loses in 2010 (if he fights a decent fighter) or retires again due to injury.
He's on his way out, IMO.

A lot of people on ESB are haters, but I don't think this is one of those occasions. Vitali looked slow and ponderous - some of that was because Johnson was hot-dogging and hard to connect with, but Vitali didn't have the punch variety to catch him. He looked slower than usual, and he wasn't getting any weight on his shots.

Also, it's hard to really assess this fight because Johnson's so goddamn awful, and he was determined not to let a fight break out.

Still, Vitali did what he had to do.

Well you know what they say, if you can have a bad performance and still win, its a mark of greatness. You cant judge Vitali on this fight anyway because it wasnt a competition, you need to have two fighters.

So.... does that make Haye an ATG because he looked awful -but won- against Valuev?

Valuev is better than Johnson after all... :think

I stopped reading at YouTube. If you want to convince yourself that Vitali still has it your setting yourself up for a fall. Vitalis injuries and age have caught up with him

    Keith,

Off the top of my head, many of those guys at age 38 would get embarrassed by Johnson. Vitali is 38, and took the fight on 11 weeks notice. He was in there vs a defensive counter puncher type, who looks to have a good chin.

The result was 120-108, 120-108, and 119-109. A near clean sweep.
