What organization had Wlad ranked as the number 1 contender to Lennox for two years?

He was the Ring number one ranked contender after he beat Byrd in 2000 until he lost to Sanders in 2003.

Not sure where he was ranked by the WBC , I'd have to check that.

He wasn't ranked. He held the WBO title so he wasn't ranked at all I don't believe by any of the organizations. But I'm more concerned with your insinuation lol. Come on PUG, you're better than that. You don't need this argument when discussing Wlad and Holmes.

Vitali was the WBC #1 when Wlad lost to Sanders if I remember correctly.

The argument was made by a poster that Wlad never fought an ATG to his detriment.

I'm saying it's not his fault because he expressed willingness to fight Lewis and was clearly in position to do so being a champion and ranked at the top by one of the most prestigious organizations in boxing.

Again, Lewis > Wlad, but I'm not discussing that

So, what's more embarrassing an endpoint to one's dominant years: getting knocked out by prime Mike Tyson at 39 years old coming off a two year layoff, or getting nearly shut out by Tyson Fury at 39 years old while having maintained a healthily active schedule? :think
