Ive always thought what it would be like to do the walk into MSG or Vegas, or any massive venue, with the weight of the world on your shoulders for you to deliver. My nerves would personally be going ****ing insane, and it always amazes me how proffesional boxers actually thrive on this, its pretty incredible. Has anybody ever had a relatively large fight where they have experienced extreme nerves? how do you keep yourself focused? i remember going in for fights when i did kick boxing and Judo, and i nearly felt sick from nerves at times, especially if i was past the first few rounds of the tournament. Although in the fight you do seem to lose yourself in the adrenaline. I think some fighters find it quite hard to deal with, such as Hatton on the recent Pac fight. He looked extremely tense and nervous and the adrenaline seemed to throw any fight plan out the window. But yeah, its a crazy feeling to think of and i dont know how the hell some boxers do it, they're made of different stuff to 99% of human beings. Im thankful they are though, because this is the best sport to watch and appreciate in the world.:smoke

It's hard enough in the amateurs, let alone a stage like that.

I've never experienced anything quite like entering a packed MSG. I have been under the spotlight with about 15,000 fans watching ONLY my wrestling match (real, not fake)... announced out to the crowd for an entrance, televised on the Local NBC News Station, ect... To be quite honest.... It didn't even effect me. I may have been a bit more excited as I was entering... not anything out of control though... but as soon as the whistle blew for the first period... I may as well been in the practice room with only my opponent in front of me... because I didn't pay any attention to the crowd.

My son had one MMA event. Kid is literally a genius. Never in a fight in his life. He told me last night that they almost wouldn't let him fight because his heart rate was so high. He lied to them and told them he always had a higher than normal so they let him go on. Not sure he would do it again though.

If you got a good team around you they will help you stay as calm and focused as possible given the situation.

I think a slight bit of nervousness is a good thing, and they learn to use it to their benefit.

Some guys turn the anxiety and nerves into a boost of energy for the fight others have trouble dealing with it and it slowly drains their energy level....

I got rediculously nervous for Khan agaisnt Kotelnik. I had fears that Kotelnik would crack him on the chin and it would be good night, right through till the end lol. So glad Khan won that fight. God knows what some of the boxers have felt walking into the ring.

Kept snapping his neck like a psycho and was as stiff as a Zombie entering the ring :scaredas:............seriously, Golota is the biggest nerve wreck out there and all his opponents knew it.
