only because it was just about the first time we'd ever seen anyone win more than one round against RJ, and it went to their heads. Tarver didn't do enough, he got countered easily, and whenever Jones opened up he was the one landing with authority. Tarver's shot were nearly all glancing blows. In the rematch too, for the first 2 rounds I thought Jones was doing really well until he got KTFO. However, against Glen Johnson we saw Roy Jones truly get beat beyond all speculation. Here's another controversial one. Clinton Woods is a harder fight for Joe Calzaghe than Hopkins, and the truth is Calzaghe doesn't want to know about Woods coz Woods is better than Mikkel Kessler and Kessler had him in trouble.
I didn't say he'd win, I said he'd give him problems. What were Ali's main assets in his younger days? His speed and reflexes. He made so many technical mistakes that were corrected by his speed and reflexes, and what two advantages did he not have over Jones? Speed and reflexes. In fact he was at a disadvantage in both areas. Either way, I still pick Ali to win based on size, and size alone. But I do not believe this would be an early blowout. And anyone talking some bull**** about Ali being way too strong and would KO him with one punch are the ones that are off. If so why didn't Ruiz KO him despite hitting him with some good shots? Not comparing Ruiz and Ali, just saying. I stand by what I said.
Ooooooohhhhhh! What a comeback. A little sensitive when you get called out the same way you do others? Well I'm pretty sure Cotto's balls are sensitive as well, so you should probably release your tight grip on them.
Just like you picked Hatton to KO PBF... Then you tried to call Hatton a midget... yet Cotto is a half inch taller.. So in order to not receive anymore critizism Floyd SHOULDN'T fight Cotto the midget.
BTW - Delwin you say you rate Cotto and Floyd on the welterweights they fought. Well Cotto has fought 0 true welterweights. The 4 opponents he fought were all former JR WWs, Shane, Urkal, Quitana, Judah, all former JR WW or lower. Hatton, Judah, Mitchell were all former Jr WWS BUT Only Baldomir has been at 147 his WHOLE career. So TRULY Cotto has never fought a LEGIT 147lber. Only Mayweather has.
EZE you need your own boxing thread, preferably Sticky, so when we need a huge laugh we can go to your thread and read your boxing opinions.....
Are you blind? I've said it twice now. This will be the 3rd time. I was rating them exactly how your butt buddy delwin was rating them in another thread. He had Cotto as the number 1 welterweight over Mayweather because Cotto fought "true welterweights". But technically Cotto has never fought a true welterweight, because he's never fought anyone who started and stayed at 147 or higher for their whole career. Only Mayweather has, thus proving his "rating system" ******ed, but again you are a blind tool to see past sarcasm.
I understand your opinion , and i know you know your boxing . Your statement is a good one. But you are just giving this speed advntage to Jones so easily , Jones and Ali , 2 of the fastest fighters at ANY WEIGHT , not just in their own respective dividions. The gap in speed here is hardly existent , i dont realy like either fighter so this isnt a biased post. But Ali is the fastest thing ive ever seen , and i dont believe there's any i havent seen (on tape obviously)
I think then, that you overrate Ali's speed. You can tell me that Ali at HW was faster than Roy at Mw or SMW? I think that is not only wrong, but insane. I honestly don't think it's that close, and that Jones has a clear advantage. At HW it is closer, but the Jones that fought Ruiz was still faster than any version of Ali, other than maybe footwork, being as he didn't have to move like Ali.
Alright , i tried giving your opinion respect even though i didnt agree (read my post) , and you **** on it. I think you're the mad one , saying its not even close . I dont overrate anything , i said there's not as much a gap you are trying to make out , but imo , Ali is the fastest thing i have ever seen . I jst call it how i see it. Look at the FOOTWORK and the COMBOS Ali was throwing in the 60's , cant believe im sticking up for him , i dont even like him , this is how i see it
