I agree with the Mosley and Dlh comments toeards Mayweather. Both loses in a prime for prime match with Floyd. 130, 135, 140 and 147. Their best chances are at 147 though.
Theres something about his match against David Tua that brings all these questions about. The way he beat Chris Byrd and David Tua. Sure Chris Byrd isnt a hard puncher but the man can give any fighter problems, he has proved he can be in there with legitimate Heavyweights, Ike Ibeabuchi KO'd him in a devestating fashion. The David Tua fight says alot about his durability, im sure most would agree that trading with this man is a no, no, Ike Ibeabuchi stayed infront of him for 12 rounds taking Tua's hardest shots with a smile.:scaredas:
Alright - Archie Moore has too many losses on his record to be considered alongside the very best 175 pounders in ATG history ! How was that ? Not enough snap? Come on, gimme some provoking
Here's another one, Ike Ibeabuchi was a one-dimensional slugger who got beat by David Tua. He would've failed miserably against Lewis, Holyfield or even top tier guys like Andrew Golota and Shannon Briggs.
I agree, I really dont see any good young American Heavyweights on the horizon either. I think the UFC is to blame, thats all these teens and twentysomethings want too watch and do in the states anymore, its really a big blow to boxing in general.
Both fighters threw volume punches in that fight rather than loading up. Ike never took anything close to Tua's hardest shots, likewise Ike didn't throw at full power either I guess. I just don't think Ike faced enough quality opponents to be mentioned as any kind of great fighter. Lennox would have demolished him. Holy would have beaten him too IMO. At the time I thought of him as like a young version of Ray Mercer.
Fights I'd have loved to happen; Ray Mercer - Ike Ibeabuchi Oliver McCall - Ike Ibeabuchi Mike Tyson - Ike Ibeabuchi (****, they coulda had that in jail...)
He also looked like he had been run over by a ****ing truck at the end, with the truck parking on his face
