I remember I had the same scorecard as Harold Lederman in their 2nd fight.

Its a shame really. I did pretty well in getting 3 pages with my Vargas/Wright one I felt. I guess I'm kind of lucky in that I'm re-evalutating my views on fighters and offering myself definitive scores on how close and controversial fights went. I suspect when I do my Pacquiao-Marquez and Mayweather-Castillo threads I'll get multiple pages and a torrent of abuse.

Btw this thread sucks, i'd much rather see a thread about the homie Money Mayweather and how he makes it rains on them ho's and beats up his ex or congressman Manny Pacesus and how he's got a new haircut or atleast give us something about Wlad KO'ing Ali.

No worries. I think single threads might be better, gets more focus. Etc. :good

Thoughts on a rewatched round 1:

I thought the first 2 minutes where clearly Barreras. He was working well on the inside throwing lovely combinations, landing that left hand particularly in the form of an uppercut. Erik work on the outside was met with some parries and blocks and when he came on to the inside or mid range he wasn't winning the exchanges for me. He landed a very nice right hand here and there, and going into the last minute of the round the action was tempered on the part of Barrera but Erik's outside work wasn't getting through and when he came onto the inside I felt he was smothering himself too much. I do feel strongly that Round 1 is a Barrera round.

One of the reasons I've decided to make these threads rather than say keep them to myself is to just see how other people saw the action on close fights and pretty much 99% of the feedback I've got on both of my threads thus far had been interesting. I think there was only one other person than me that felt Vargas beat Winky and it was good to see how people decided how a round should be scored.

It also gives people a chance to discuss fights as a whole, and what better fight to discuss than the crème de la crème of boxing action.

Come on. Surely this thread must get more replies than the Vargas-Wright thread when this is the much more popular fight.
