http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vvWkWufGLs One of the prime examples of a blatant robbery followed by incompetent officials who don't even know the difference between a Majority Decision and Split Decision. The ending with Teddy Atlas telling off the official is gold. Augustus was a hell of a fighter, despite his journeyman record in which most of those fights could have gone his way. Had he been handled properly with a better trainer and promoter he could have achieved so much more with his amazing talents along with his entertaining style. He was fun to watch.
Emanuel Augustus had plenty of skill, but seemed to lack the focus needed to be a better fighter. Augustus's bout with Courtney Burton was notable for the lopsided scores of the judges and the terrible job done by the referee, all in favor of Burton. Yes, the decision should have gone to Augustus. - Chuck Johnston
Saw it live in Muskegon. Outrageous corrupt. My blood still starts boiling whenever I think about it.
I loved to see Emanuel Augustus go in with his mediocre record and take apart a young fighter with a nice win-loss record. - Chuck Johnston
Burton looked like such a shot fighter in the rematch the knockouts seemed to have took their toll on him.
