Walcott’s ref job Ali Liston 2. Should have taken control of the count and allowed the fight to continue. Instead we are left w one of the biggest oddities in boxing hisyory

Laurence Cole’s **** poor refereeing job in Lomachenko vs Salido deserves a mention. Constant low blows from Salido, which Cole kept allowing. Also robbed Lomachenko of a win and history being made.

You do what you are allowed to until you are warned. After the warning you are in danger of being DQ'd. Wlad fought dirty (and fought clean) for 11 rounds before he was warned. Those knockdowns over a previously extremely durable and undefeated opponent were no imagined. Those happened. Wlad merely proceeded as he was allowed. Many, many other champs... many, many other all time greats such as Wlad... fought dirty and did what was allowed by the ref. I thought it was a brilliant performance.

Joe Cortez & Kenny Bayless in every Mayweather fight they officiated. It was so blatant it was laughable

I thought Bowe was done even before then. It was a horrific sight, him taking that much punishment.

Could you believe Moore's corner sent him out for the 8th round?

Thats such a disingenuous argument  We all know refs can favour one guy over the other , and no example proves this better than Pabons disgraceful display in Wlad vs Povetkin. . . As if somebody like Miles Lane would have allowed that farce to continue beyond 4 rounds. In a fight like that the ref is just as complicit as the guy committing the fouls.

And think again if you believe Wlad didn't pre-plan that performance because he fights to a script , everything was set-up for him before the fight.
The gamplan was rehearsed and Pabon was brought in to allow it.

Absolutely hilarious you posted this ^mere moments after you posted this.

Wlads illegal wrestling was far worse than Dempseys as he used his size advantage to lay his weight down on Povs neck and back.

At least Jack was working on the inside while in the clinch , like everybody did back then. The footage is poor , but it looks like Gibbons is the one initiating most of the holding.
The low blows are equal to Wlad flinging Povetkin around by his neck and driving him into the canvas with elbow force to the face.

I seriously doubt you ever rewatched hat fight , so here's a reminder.

Jack Welch : after a double knockdown of Rivers and Wolgast the ref helps Wolgast to his feet, while at the same time counting over Rivers.

    Bump.
I think Barrera vs JMM is another example of a referee playing a major role in the outcome of that fight. I think Barrera was slightly winning that fight going into the 7th round, got hurt briefly but managed to KD Marquez, Jay Nady instead ruled it a slip and took a point away from Barrera because he hit JMM while his gloves were touching the canvas. From that round on it affected Barrera's performance and JMM was starting to control the fight and ultimately won. Had Jay Nady called it a KD I think Barrera could have won that fight IMO.

Robbie Peden vs Nate campbell- Nate was easily winning the fight till he started showboating, he dropped his hands and let Robbie tee off. Peden hit him with a picture perfect left hook, down goes Campbell. Gets up at what would be a 8, but the ref gives him a fast count- leading Nate to lose by kayo.

Robbie Peden vs Nate campbell- part two- Nate suffers from the same much luck from the referee in Robbie's hometown of Australia. The fight is on even terms. All of a sudden Robbie lands a flurry and the ref maliciously jumps in and calls a halt to the bout. What a shame (times two). These losses were the reason why Campbell CRIED when he beat Juan diaz in the future, because he "was the best lightweight in the world."
