i don't particulary score fights and it was what, 14 years ago. i thought benn won even with the point deduction.
:good i was surprised at what a style change up benn brought to the table. using s jab countering the counterpuncher, feints using angles. eubank in some ways got suckered in to fight him becuase he knew he could hurt him. benn by 2 points or 3 points yeah i thought benn was the winner of that one.
I thought Benn won it but my mate had a tenner on the draw so we weren't complaining. I think it was 33-1.
we've never had a bigger domestic fight since. remember haye - maccarennelli was compared to this ? laughable. yeah benn brought a lot more in the second fight, he just tried to blast eubank out in the first but i think he had a lot more respect for him second time round. you would i suppose if you'd taken such a beating.
Benn really came 200% for that fight. It was really shocking how much different he's style was in that fight and how good he actually was with it. Under normal circumstances, changing you style like that shouldn't happen in just over one fight, but Benn was just something. He was beating Eubank to the punch and actually luring Eubank into ATTACKING him, then countering Eubank on the way in. I was like WTF? Is this Nigel Benn? LOL!
Lamar Murphy v Miguel angel Gonzales... Undercard of Tyson v Mcneely.... Anyone remember that fight ???
Haha...Yea, I'm trying to watch fights in which people scored the fights vastly different; everyone on earth knows RJJ won that fight.
